    My Trip Report

A while back on a lark I inputed AC on the TR website and lo and behold I came up with comped nights at Caesars. So, last Sunday SWMBO and I drove from NoVa to Atlantic City. I was hoping to leave at noon, figuring on 4 hours to get there.(Check-in 4pm.) We ended up leaving at closer to 1pm. Five and a half hours later we arrived bat Caesars. Traffic was brutal. I figured Sunday would be a better day to travel- uh-uh! A bit harried we go to check in using the Diamond line with my newly acquired status. The line was shorter, although it seemed that the agents were helping anyone in line, so we did have to wait briefly. We were told that none of the room types we reserved were ready- it would be about two hours!!( the place WAS packed and several employees indicated they were a little surprised by HOW packed it was.) SWMBO was very displeased to say the least, but was somewhat assuaged when offered a $50 room credit. I decided to exchange my Gold card for my Diamond, and then to partake of the Diamond Lounge. Without question this was one of the best parts of the trip! Relaxing in the Diamond Lounge.

About 75 minutes later I got the text message that our room was ready. 41st floor of the Centurion Tower. Come to fond out this is considered the "best" tower with the nicest rooms. And, the room was indeed excellent. I most say also that having a fridge is really helpful! The view from our room:

    So, certainly no complaints there!

We tried Gordon Ramsey's Pub to use our credit. It was ok. I had the pesto chicken sandwich, my wife the English burger. Not worth a revisit! We also had the breakfast buffet which was a total ripoff! We found a place that sold bottles of OJ and chocolate milk, and that's what we had for breakfast the remaining days, along with a few tarts smuggled from the Diamond Lounge. We did not get to White House subs, but will do so next visit in May. We did try Guy Fieri's next door, and that, too left me somewhat unimpressed. However, I would like to go back and try a bunch of their apps! Apparently two chefs called in sick, so they borrowed one from Ramsey's. Our orders took an hour to arrive, and were incorrect. My wife's Mac&Cheese burger came without mac and cheese; my NY Strip came with mushrooms instead of caramelized onions. They corrected the mistake by sauteing some onions for me(NOT caramelized!) and dumping some mac and cheese sauce on SWMBO's burger. She had cut 1/4 off as she eats in bites- this piece was lost in the shuffle! I asked for a refill on my coke which finally came after our plates were cleared and we were ready to go. The burger was ok- Karen liked Ramsey's better, my steak was good, but the meal was certainly not worth $90! We also ate at a place just outside Caesar's that was not good, either. And, even though they were abutting Caesar's they were not part of them so I wasn't able to use my card for points- the ONLY reason we went there!( We wanted a small lunch since we knew we were going to Fieri's that evening.) So, except for the Diamond Lounge, the food was uninspiring.....

I have posted elsewhere about my concern with the digital BJ machines. Suffice it to say I left $300 in the red, so I ended up paying for a night at the hotel.

We took the Cape May ferry home, and it was great, but certainly longer than using I-95 et al. I made reservations at Harrah's for next May when I saw we could get comped rooms in the Bayview Tower. Interestingly those rooms are no longer available to me today!

All in all, a nice trip with several hiccups along the way!

We always stay in the Centurion Tower when we go. Those rooms -- and that view -- are wonderful. If you return to Caesars, I recommend having breakfast in Cafe Roma, next to the buffet. They do their own breakfast buffet and it's typically less expensive and quite good. If you like Asian food, I recommend eating at Kwi on the casino floor. They have excellent noodles and they serve some tasty Chinese beer.

I'll need to get up there for their airshow next year IF I can get decent room prices!

Nice report. Sucks about the food a guy's. Gf ate at the Vegas location last trip. Food came out okay, but she had a pretty inattentive waitress.

I've eaten at Guy's a few times and it's always been good. Must have been a (very) off night. The garlic buffalo wings are great, and the steaks are solid. They have a great barrel-aged Kentucky sidecar cocktail too!

Avoid the Bayview tower. I would only stay in the Waterfront tower floors 28 or higher also. New management took over about 9 months ago and are all business and don't care if you are a player or a partier. They only worry about hotel profit. My host was annoyed with the front desk as well. Harrahs is a different company than Bally's and Caesars in AC due to restructuring.

That's what they kept telling me! I plan to go back because their appetizers sounded really good, could easily make a meal out of them!

I'm heading to Caesars AC on Thursday for a beach day. I always have such a nice time there. Wish me luck!

caesars diamond club is nice but if you want great views and/or like to sit at a bar with views would recommend ballys diamond club-----it is also the biggest diamond club of the 3 caesars properties in ac-----believe they are currently closed on mon and tues and maybe even wed-----as for a decent breakfast close by but not in a casino would recommend a small greek restaurant on pacific ave near resorts .if memory serves me it is called constantinos-----the owner .an elderly greek lady is very proud of her home fries.now trying to sell the place because of her advanced age and a decline in business because of the recent casino closings----

Nice pictures you have there. I haven't made it to AC yet this year so always a pleasure reading TRs.
