SLS sending out offers/ promoting new changes to slot club

I first played at SLS last year in september playing their 25c near fully pay machines they had for a while, played for a couple hours. Then came back New Years Day and played a few hours of triple play bonus poker 25c but since then have not given them any play. Looks like they are making an attempt now to attract some gamblers (as before I had recieved "discount room" offers that were similar to what anybody could find).

Today I received an offer in the mail for 2 comped nights anytime between Sept 4th and Nov 30th in a World Superior Room, with $15 in CODE play

My question is on the resort fee. Never staying here, and doing a quick search I didn't see any recent posts from anyone staying here to answer this. If they are offering a "free" room + resort fee I do not think I will bother. But if its free (The offer does not state anywhere a resort fee will be charged) it may be worth a shot. I will probably call shortly to inquire, but was curious if any others had any experiences with comped rooms at SLS.

 

They will charge the resort fee. I had a similar offer, booked it and they confirmed over the phone that I would be charged a resort fee. I ended up cancelling my reservation and booked the two nights at the Mirage, mostly for convenience.

 

Yup! I spent the night there in Oct 2014 on an upfront host comp when they were matching free play offers. I did NOT pay the resort fee then. I ran $8K through their machines that one night and my bounce back offers were like $50 and the room. A couple months ago I got an offer with some new hosts name on it inviting me back for 2 nights and $175 in free play. It was an OK offer so I called to see if they would honor the $175 in free play if I just stayed one night. The casino is really small so there isnt much for me to do for 2 days. But one night its fine. They said I had to stay 2 nights and my only charges would be something like $70 in resort fees (I think it was $30 a night plus tax on that $30 X 2 for the two days). I laughed and said thank you and booked my suite at the Tropicana with $350 in free play all comped no fees.

It seems like they are trying but they just dont get it.

 

Wow that's interesting, I called on my offer and questioned them specifically on the resort fee and was told it would not be charged to me, so I have booked the room for now. I think I will keep my backup hotel booked in case the tune changes when I hit the check in desk.

 

I'm more like this one. I received a mailer with 2 free nights in a World Superior and $30 in CODE play.

The mailer shows calendars for Sept/Oct/Nov with FREE in every single square.

So I called them for Sept 12/13/14. They would not comp the Saturday ($209.30 was my rate), but they would comp the Sunday/Monday. The resort fee would only be charged for the night I paid for, which would be $32.48 total.

That wasn't close enough to free for me, so I didn't book. I patiently waited for the DTG which came through for me.

 

Even with the resort fee comped, $30 in freeplay is a joke. If they want to get people in there, they need to step it up.

Or the poster above with $8k of coin in and they want to charge fees, etc. Kiss my .......

 

Maybe enough enough people bitched about the fees on a free room so they backed off?

 

When will you be visiting? I am intrigued to learn about how they handle you. Will you update this thread with the experience?

 

i reserved oct 17th and 18th, unless i get something from downtown grand in the meantime i plan on an least staying there 1 of the 2 nights. Im already booked at rio for a 5 night stay and booked gold coast along side it for some free play, so the SLS is just to see how the rooms/dining is. Ill report back how it went

 

Stayed two nights last month comped and was not charged a resort fee. I doubt my experience is unique as I am far from a High Roller.

 

Like Grid, I took advantage of their "match" offer back in Oct 2014; really only just to put up family, for the wedding weekend...was given a Lux King Suite, and not charged a resort fee...I never intended on playing there...and never got any other "offer". But I can tell you, my cousin, who is a non-gambler, "typical" vegas tourist, enjoyed the room and the casino.
