I am over in early December and would like to rent a car during my stay. I would like to be able to get out and about away from the strip and downtown. Maybe see some other non gambling sites as well as visit a few out of the ordinary casinos.

Being from the UK we don't get to see or drive many muscle cars. So I was thinking maybe a mustang or a charger and wondered if anyone has any experience of renting? Or the best places to see outside LV?

    Many thanks

    David

As for some areas to visit, there is of course, Hoover Dam, Red Rock Canyon, Mt. Charleston and Valley of Fire. Of these the most interesting would be Valley of Fire. Mt Charleston may be iced over in December since the altitude is so much higher?

As for the car, I would think it would be your preference. You can probably get either the Charger, Challenger or Mustang from Avis or one of the major companies. Make sure to get unlimited mileage. It may be kind of cool in December so a convertible might not work that well.

    Here's more info from Hertz

There are other specialty companies that offer Exotic and Muscle car rentals but expect to pay more for those

I had a Charger from Enterprise in May. It was a decent car. We didn't specifically set out to rent one, it was one of about four options they gave us at the lot.

Thanks folks. Seen a deal at Avis for 40 pounds a day that looks good. Will probably go with that.

    Thank you or your help.

I thought you wanted a muscle car..... You'll need to book a Specialty vehicle at a high rate but to quench your thirst, money well spent. Beware that the standard "fleet" vehicles are V-6's, far from being muscle cars.

That's a good point. I enjoyed driving the Charger but it definitely wasn't their top of the line engine.
