Are The Sports Books 21+?

I'm looking for a place where my son and I can watch multiple games. My son is under 21. I was thinking that if the sports book has a food service we could order some apps and watch a few games while my wife and daughter gamble. Would my son and I be able to sit in the sports book as long as he doesn't go to the counter and try to put money on a game?

 

What does under 21 mean?

20 and looks 25 or 16 and looks 12 are very different.

Vegas is pretty much entirely 21+ especially casinos which includes the book.

 

You may be able to do this at a bar/restaurant. Definitely no where in the casino which includes the sports book.

I would probably opt to grab a six pack from the store (or a bottle) and a pizza from five50 and sit in the room. Much safer.

 

Yep... not gonna be able to do it... my son is almost 27 and looks that age and is carded every time.

 

One place you might want to try is South Point. Not in the seats in the book but in the booths at the back of the book. I see people getting food and just sitting there eating.

Right in front of the Delmar Deli.

I believe I've seen families sitting there with kids.

No guarantees they might tell you to move along..

 

This. If it's the first case, I'd say just plop down and see what happens. They won't make a big ordeal about it unless you are rude.

 

You can definitely place a bet on his behalf, but it'd go with the most people suggestion and have him avoid the casino all together. Granted I looked like I was under 21 at some point in time and I went up to the counter and confidentally placed a bet and nobody checked (TreasureIsland). But that's probably an outlier.

 

Give Twin Peaks a try. We do some NFL games in there for a switch and decent "sights".

 

there are sportsbooks that have dining options right next to the book and if you're sitting and eating you have a good view of the TVs in the sportsbook

 

If he can ""blend in" as in looking old enough then id say just sit there until you get kicked out. Then just find a close bar/restaurant to sit at and watch. My guess is you would not get kicked out. i have been to many sports books in vegas and have never been carded unless i am getting a drink or placing bets, and im 23 and look young.

 

There's another thread where the OP states his son is 13. I don't think he'll make it too long.

 

If that's the case, the casino probably deserves a fine if he lasts 10 minutes.

 

I'd be shocked if he can get into a sports book. People are carded even if they are just watching and not playing in the casino. I know that CET will card anyone that doesn't look over 35.

 

Last year during NCAAFB semi's I had my 19yr old (6'2", 175) at MB ...we stopped to check the scores....for about 5 mins! He looks 25 but, was carded and asked to leave.

 

I have been to Vegas for UFC fights twice, and each time with my son (almost 15 now). He is the big fan and we discuss the fights on the card earlier, then when we see the lines I have him search for the value bets. He walks with me to the counter to make sure I bet the right numbers. We have never hung out there, I just place our bets and then go to the arena to watch the fights.

When we go with the kids, they are always with us during the day, and they are in the room at night when we go get our gamble on. At first glance he doesn't appear to be a kid (6'3, 200lbs) but if they look closely they ask if he is 21. We say no and they tell us that he cant be in a particular area and we move along without drama.
