Can we list the opening hours of Casinos Downtown, I know some close at midnight where others stay open 24/7 for gambling.

    Please discuss.

    Is this a joke??
All casinos in Vegas metro are 24/7.
The TABLE GAMES might not be...but believe me, those slots are never turned off.

EDIT: Sorry Mate, didn't see you were from down under...yeah, 24/7 throughout.

La Bayou and Mermaids are not 24/7. I am not sure when they close, but I think they open around 9am.

According to Google, La Bayou and Mermaids are open from 9am until 1am. 2am on Fridays and Saturdays.

Come on Tim, not all downtown casinos operate 24/7, especially those without hotels. I know Fremont Casino certainly closes operation for a few hours.

Looking to get an accurate schedule.

I have never heard this. I know Atlantic City casinos closed from 4 am - 10 am for a number of years after gambling was legalized in NJ, before the law was changed to allow for 24/7 operations.

Thanks for that, interesting to note, can def remember trying to enter the casino doors in the early AM hours and being locked last September.

Will check again this September and report back.

    No biggie though.

I've showed up at 430 am and had plenty of did drinking and gambling. Much quieter, but casinos never sleep.

Mermaids & Bayou close...but I don't consider them to be true "casinos"... slots only.

Now, places with minimal (or no) table game availability from like 4AM until 8AM?
    Those would be:
    Plaza-LVC-Golden Gate-Binion's-Fremont-Cal-4 Queens

Places that seem to have table-game action at all hours?
    Those would be:
    Nugget
    'theD'
    MSS

Some of my fondest memories are leaving Caesars Atlantic City greeted by the sunrise over the ocean, leaving the California after winning big at blackjack with the most beautiful Hawaiian girl I'd ever seen, not even realizing it was morning (sadly, leaving without the girl) and walking the strip to Bally's from the Sands passing only elderly people and joggers (once again not even realizing it was morning when I left the Sands).

I know this has nothing to do with answering the question in the thread but it brought back all those great memories....

They may not close, but it can feel pretty lonely lifting your feet for the guy with the carpet zamboni while banging the machine at 3:30 am! On the other hand, the drink service can be really great if you tip decently.

    Good summary for the OP.
Even the ones listed in the "minimal" section will have some action. mostly BJ -- the other tables games wil prob be limited.
    unsure of ElCo or DTG.

All of the Hotel/casinos downtown are open 24/7. whether they have table games 24/7 I guess depends whether they are busy or not or other factors.

I don't regard Mermaids or Bayou as a "casino", but that's just me. And yes, those places are not 24/7.

Be aware that most casinos do close off some areas for cleaning and maintenance during the off hours and for collection of money from the machines. You probably see them, sometimes they put the yellow tape around a bunch of machines to put them out of service (or they just turn them off). I have also seen them close off the door area for cleaning, but in most casinos there is usually another door to get into the place.

I have also seen some casinos close off parts of their table area, mostly because they were changing the felt on the tables. I also saw that with the crap table at the D. Funny because that time they made the table too lively, dice throws would go off the table most of the time (they probably put too much padding under the felt). Later that day they redid the felt so it wasn't as "lively". It was funny because we could just drop the dice on the felt and like a rubber ball it would almost bounce back up to us.

I can verify that the Fremont never "closes". I have been there at all hours of the day and night and they are usually open. I say usually because there could be a number of factors that could require them to close, such as a robbery or crime but a majority of the time they are open 24/7.

I think most of the downtown casinos will close off their tables during the off hours if there isn't any action. I have seen them close tables at MSS, Cal and Fremont. Usually the dealers will do other things like go through the day's card decks. They will count and examine the cards and seal them, usually for sale in their vending machines or to second hand stores like the gamblers general store.

Of course they could reopen the tables if they see customers coming around. Like at walgreens or cvs with salesclerks they can call out dealers if they see customers.
