    My Trip Report

    Hi there!!

For those who don't know me: I'm Lin(dy) from The Netherlands. My wife (E.) and I got married in 2013 and our honeymoon was a week in Vegas, the city we have always wanted to visit. Since the first trip in june 2012 we're hooked! It's a good thing we live so far away, or else we would have been broke from going to Vegas too often ;)
This will be our fifth trip to Vegas, after going in june and december of 2013, july 2014 and feb 2015.

This trip is only 5 months after our last trip in feb, but it felt like we haven't been to Vegas in over a year. Time never passed so slowly. We were thinking of maybe skipping the winter trip next year and take an extra long summer trip in 2016 with a visit to another city and Vegas, but I'm afraid we won't make it through a whole year without going to Vegas :') But that's for later.

Me and my wife are in our early 30's and 40's. We LOVE off strip gambling and one or two nights on the strip. We love our drinks, pai gow poker, low limit roulette and slots. I like an occasional game of BJ, E. not so much, she thinks its boring :confused2:

You may describe us as low rollers, we have a gambling budget of $350 a day and we play slots and table games together. Except when I'm playing BJ, than she's off to the slots by herself. We're not foodies at all and usually eat only two meals a day: a buffet for breakfast and a meal around 6pm or so. We have a separate budget for food, besides the $350 gambling budget a day. This will be the first time we'll be using the envelope method and I already went and got/exchanged our gambling dollars and divided them into 7 envelopes for wednesday through tuesday. We have one envelope called 'shop envelope' and what's left after a day of gambling will go into that envelope for shopping on our last full day in Vegas. (we've actually never had a winning trip, so that shop envelope might be quite empty at the end of the week :') )

We usually hotel-hop a lot and this trip will be no different:
We'll start of our Vegas-week with two comped nights at Sam's Town on wednesday.
On friday we'll move to Monte Carlo for two comped nights. We will probably only spend friday night at MC, but I booked two nights to be able to swim there all saturday and be able to shower and change before our change to South Point on saturday night.
We have 4 nights at South Point: we love playing pai gow poker there!! Also on monday we have a comped night at Suncoast, just to check it out once (we will keep our room at South Point for tuesday). We played some pgp at Suncoast last year and really liked it and got an offer for a free night there, so why not check it out, right?
We'll have a car all week and I will be the driver. So on days we have to drive, I won't drink until we're back at our home hotel. Another reason we took the extra night at Suncoast: a change of scenery from South Point and being able to grind it at the pgp tables, get our buzz on and crash in bed, instead of having to stay sober to drive back to our home hotel.

I'm really ADD and already planned our entire week in Vegas, but that's just to keep my head calm. Once we're there, we'll probably only do half the things planned, but that's fine. As said, it keeps my head calm before we leave ;)

    Our plans:

    - Wednesday: leave home at 7.30 am. Flight to Vegas at 1.00pm with a change in Minneapolis. Pick up the car and drive to Sam's Town where we'll probably arrive around 9pm (it will be 6am the next day in The Netherlands, so up and traveling for almost 24 hours...). And than: GAME ON!!!! Slots, pgp, whatever we feel like. Oh, and drinks, of course!

    - Thursday: take the shuttle to downtown for a day of drinking and gambling downtown (El Cortez, here we come!). Maybe we'll visit the Mob Museum (we've planned to visit that 3 times already, but never did...) and probably dinner wil be at Grotto, we love the goat cheese pizza <3

    - Friday: check out at Sam's, leave suitcase at the Bell Desk and drive to Lake Las Vegas (we've never seen that before) and visit Jokers Wild :')
Back to Sam's to pick up our suitcase and drive to Monte Carlo, check in and casino-hop on the strip.

    - Saturday: pool time!! And casino-hopping probably.
Evening: check out at MC and off to South Point.

    - Sunday: Chill day, no plans yet.

    - Monday: Breakfast at Red Rock (MyVegas), Rampart casino and Suncoast with a night at Suncoast.

    - Tuesday: Breakfast at GVR and shopping!

    - Wednesday: 9.45 am flight back home with a change in Detroit

    - Thursday: 8.00 am arriving back in Amsterdam and train home.

    So yeah, that's about it!
I'll try to update every night or morning when we're back in the room, on my laptop. I hate tapatalk :') And I'll include daily pics!

As I'm from The Netherlands, English isn't my first language. I'm trying, but there may be some grammar or spelling mistakes, sorry! (but not really sorry, because I'm trying as hard as I can ;) )

First pic: already doing a little packing at home today. Will pack our suitcase tomorrow, but all the 'ooh, I must not forget that!'-things are already on the
    table in the living room.

PS. I started this in the misc. chat section because we won't leave until wednesday, that's the correct way, right?

Can't wait to read your report. Wish my "English" was as good as yours (born here). Applaud your wisdom on being sober to drive, hope it doesn't cut into the fun. The pool options are few downtown, but since you're low rolling, you want to consider staying downtown in the future. Fremont St. is so much fun, your only worry is to remember to transfer your drink to a plastic cup when leaving one casino for the next. Good luck and safe travels

We did stay at Plaza the last two trips. We really enjoy downtown, but at night it gets too crowded for me. I don't like all those people so close to me on the streets ;) That's the main reason we like to stay off strip. Visit the busy places during the day time and relax at a slower casino at night.
Being sober to drive doesn't kill the fun for me, put me at a gaming table or slot with a diet coke and a cigarette and I am one happy camper :D

Only 23 hours until our plane leaves!
We did all our pre-trip shopping, and now only need to pack our suitcase (fun!) and clean the house (meh..).

    I'm excited :D

Suitcase is packed, house is clean... and now it's 6pm so we have to wait for bedtime: I'm guessing it's an early one today.

Packed and ready to go! (I even polished my toe nails  )

We'll have to leave in 13.5 hours to drive to the train station, catch a train to Schiphol Airport (takes as long as driving, but much cheaper), check in and I guess after that it's time to wait again. But after that little waiting time: off to Vegas bitches!! :D :D

    Thank you all!!

We're on the train to schiphol airport now. And it's so crowded we have to sit on our suitcase.
Luckily we will have better seats on the plane!

Have a lovely time. I'm used to the almost 24 hour journeys, but they don't get easier do they?

    Looking forward to your updates.
