So I'm looking for a nice restraunt to surprise the wife to for our 4th year wedding anniversary, I was planning the Eiffel Tower restraunt with its stunning views of the fountains but the menu just isn't to our taste (we like it simple, Italian, steak, burgers etc) ideally somewhere on the strip also but open to the idea of off strip, our personal favourite restraunt to date is Maggianos so that's the kinda thing I'm looking for but with maybe a nice view also? Any recommendations greatly appreciated

If you want a high-end Italian, then you might look at Sinatra, which I enjoyed quite a bit, and is quite romantic (though no view). You may also want to look into Scarpetta or Nove Italiano if a view is important.

Olives at bellagio on the patio for a lake /fountain view? Probably more casual than you're looking for, though.

Maybe Giada at Cromwell with a table near the window.

In what price point are you looking for? Scarpetta at Cosmo or Sinatra at Encore serves a real Italian meal and is about 100x better then Maggianos. If one of you want to have a great steak or a burger while the other one looking more into a traditional Italian dishes like pasta Carnevino at Palazzo would be my recommendation. Never been to Giada so doesn't know how it compares to the others.

Cheers for the replies folks, price range would be that of Maggianos but I wouldn't mind going a little more expensive, I'll be sure to check out the above mentioned places thanks again

If you are staying at a hotel that has a decent concierge, ask advice from them. Allow them to make your reservation. You may get extra goodies as a result. I know you want Italian on the strip so allow me to suggest something that's not Italian and not on the strip. Roy's on Flamingo. They do a great job with anniversaries. We have gotten our picture taken and free dessert. And the food rocks.

Dh likes things simple and has had fantastic steak twice for our anniversary at the Eiffel Tower Restaurant, I would recommend you give it a try.

I would second this one as well. Not cheap, but surely not terribly expensive. Patio is first come first served, but we always manage to get a table.

Old school romantic... Hugo's Cellar basement of 4 Queens...waiters in tux, give females a red rose as you are seated, great food different than the regular high end strip.
