New Orleans because of the combination of comped rooms at Harrah's, gambling, drinking, eating, and debauchery.

Not a bad choice, Joe.

There are any number of places we'd rather be than Vegas. If we're talking the kind of place you can visit often, Hawaii, followed by Bend/central Oregon. If we're talking something that only happens every five years or so, New Zealand.

Oops, forgot the whys of it all:

Hawaii: Has everything you want and no maddening crowds.
Bend: Outdoor bounty, good beer, golf.
NZ: The people, the food, the freakin' scenery.

There's plenty out there available on the Internet, but none of it will prepare you for walking down Soi 6 or Walking Street your first time. I had to duck into British/Irish pubs (respectively) each time to recenter myself.

I hear there's some good and cheap golf to be played around there too.

Manhattan, I think the food and entertainment outdoes Vegas. The only thing it doesn't have is gambling.

Honestly, we've gotten so spoiled with comped rooms, drinks and show passes (let's be honest, it rarely ends up being "free" in reality, but the idea is there), that we have trouble actually paying for rooms anywhere. It means we normally go to Vegas.

If not, it would be New Zealand or Ireland. After you buy those plane tickets, the rooms feel free. :)

Places I seem to go every year these days are Vegas and London, England. I love that place, used to live there for a year and been in the process of moving back ever since. Expensive place but cheap/short flights make it a bit easier for me. And being an European, I of course love soccer and have seen some pretty good matches in there.

Pensacola Beach Fl.....love the area near Pier Point.... There is a locals restaurant called Dusty's that is a hoot & some of the nicest people to hang with. Also a bar/club in Pier Point that has 3 bands playing - one after the other - mostly country & the place rocks!!! We may be old & retired but we won't let that stop us!! ....lol

Taormina, Sicily. The color of the Mediterranean will stick with me forever! Amazing food, nice folks. I have a picture somewhere of me sitting on a lava dome on Mt. Etna. A few years later that dome blew up! Lemon trees on the road side. Zbiba. Still have a bottle left! Ahhh... Got to get back!

Toss up. Scottsdale for Spring Training in March and Seattle in July. No rain and just walk around and enjoy downtown Seattle, maybe catch a Mariner's game.

Anywhere with mountains - living in flat Florida makes me really crave mountains. In the US I like the Rockies and the Smokies - love the area around Cashiers NC.
