    My Trip Report

Hey all! Relatively new poster, but long time reader. Wanted to thank all of you in advance for providing such detailed and helpful information. It has definitely helped my trips out!

I'm heading to Vegas from NYC tomorrow night and I'm going to try to live report it...this trip is a little different than most though.

This is my....apartment finding trip! I'm starting at UNLV at the end of August, pursuing a Master of Science in hospitality and hotel administration. Where else would you do it? I'm very excited as I'm all about hotels and Vegas has always been my place! The next two years I will be living in Las Vegas (look out for plenty of staycation reports at various resorts).

This trip is going to be rather quick, but I'm hopeful to show the other side of Vegas for a brief couple of days. I'm staying at Rio on comps. Of course I'll have some play going on, but probably not as much as I'd like. Expect more apartment porn, hotel porn and food porn. Seeing LOVE again Monday night with a MyVegas two-for-one buffet at the Mirage beforehand. Pool time on Tuesday with some play thrown in here and there. Mostly VP and slots.

I'm driving out for good on August 9 and staying at The Linq August 12-15 as my apartment from New York gets moved to LV. Expect a lot more hilarity to ensure then!

See you tomorrow night from the Rio!

Sounds great! Can't wait to hear what you get up to and see pics of apts. Vegas living is very intriguing to me. I've been looking at condos close to the strip to purchase (not time share) as an investment/retirement place. I've found the prices very reasonable so it will be nice to compare to apt living.

SEND HELP. Just arrived after a very turbulent flight with no sleep. Waiting at Hertz which is extremely crowded with very few workers. Hoping Rio does not have such a bad wait!

Well, we got in late after that but no line at all at Rio checkin which was smooth as anything. We are on the 9th floor of the Ipanema Tower. After settling in I took a little stroll around the casino to check things out. I don't know that I love the layout and it's definitely starting to show its age. But those facts aside the room is quite nice and really comfortable. We love having a little extra space.

Already awake because...Vegas...and who can sleep here? Market Street Cafe for breakfast soon then the apartment tours begin! [IMG][IMG]

Not too close I hope unless you can afford the high rise type. I couple miles away gets you a much nicer area for a lot less. You can still get to the strip in 10 minutes give our take. Lots of good info in the "Living in Sin (city that is)" forum.

Philippine Breakfast at Market Street Cafe is a must. Coffee being drunk. Getting ready for the day. But first a little walk around Fremont with my mom. [IMG]

No party pit right now but I'm about to settle into some slots and champagne before mirage buffet and LOVE tonight.

Gotta say, aside from some strip traffic, I'm loving getting to know the streets and driving here!
