    • July 10, 2015 10:40 Mirage Volcano to Drastically Cut Hours: The famous free spectacle at the Mirage, which received a major upgrade back in 2009, is to cut its nightly performances way back commencing July 13. Currently, the volcano erupts nightly every half hour, from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.; once the new schedule comes into effect on Monday, you'll only be able to catch the show twice a night Sunday through Thursday, at 8 and 9 p.m., with an extra 10 p.m. eruption on Fridays and Saturdays.

I'm shocked they waited this long. I saw so many fights between drunk/stupid/conceited idiots trying to get a better view...

Hmmm... hope this is not a harbinger of bad economic things to come for Mirage.

I hope they don't pull a Treasure Island and put a shopping complex in the volcano area

What a total bummer. Wonder what their reasoning is for this? Also curious what Steve Wynn thinks of it.

Wow.....that's too bad, loved the volcano's frequent show. We stay there fairly often, enjoyed it both from the room and down on the ground.

I found that posting up in the porte-cochere by the valet was a great place, nice sight lines, good sound, and hardly any people really. At least not in late fall.

I don't think I have seen it from the road side in quite a while, I didn't know there were people being stupid, that's too bad.

    Sad news....
I suppose it is to save money....but I can only assume the crowds will be bigger (and ruder) for the few remaining daily shows.
