Good Sunday After the 4th Friends!

I hope you all had a safe and enjoyable holiday :)

After our recent trip (debacle)... In addition to needing a do-over trip, I think I may want to consider a new place to stay and play. We have stayed exclusively at the Palazzo since 2009 (apart from one stay at Cosmo when we renewed our vows one very quick, overnight stay at TI and one quick overnight at Mandalay Bay).

I should start with... while I LOVE the rooms at Cosmo, Cosmo is not our scene and not where we would want to stay for any real length of time. We like to stay/play, the majority of the time, at the same place. While I'd love to stay at Cosmo, I don't like to play there... I don't really like their restaurants and their overall vibe, I dunno, it just isn't "right" (to me).

We get treated fairly well at Palazzo... but I'd like to try something new, I think. We really like Wynn but have never stayed (we enjoy their restaurants and shopping at least)... we haven't played much there.

We have never stayed at Bellagio, but again, we like their restaurants and shopping... but haven't gamed much. It was SUPER busy when I met Kimsa70 there this last trip... but it seems to have a good vibe.

Is the Delano nice? Do you just game at Mandalay? Same casino? Or the Four Seasons? Is it Mandalay gaming?

What about Aria? I have only been in the shops there...

Tell me, what's your favorite hotel/casino and why? What about players clubs?

I haven't stayed at many places but Aria and Delano are at the top of my list for places I've stayed. I've only stayed in the regular rooms at Aria but they're quite nice. Delano, as I'm sure you know, are all suites so if that's can be a positive if that's something you're looking for. As for gambling, Delano or Four Seasons don't have their own gaming area so you either gamble in Mandalay Bay or go somewhere else.

Personally, while I enjoyed the Delano, Aria is at the top of my list. I enjoy the Aria casino more than Mandalay Bay and it's in a far better location.

Thanks USCHawks! Tell me, is location your primary reason for liking Aria?

I'd say its a bonus more so than the primary reason. It's nice having Cosmo and Bellagio not too far away, but it isn't a deal breaker. I've stayed at Mandalay Bay and Delano on separate trips and have no problem walking if I want to go somewhere. Aria for me is my favorite property all around and while the rooms at Delano were nice, I spend a lot of time gambling and greatly prefer the Aria casino over the Mandalay Bay casino.

Judging by your previous hotel stays I think my opinions wont be much help as we are probably at different economic levels however I will give you some feedback from a low roller.

I enjoyed Bellagio a lot. Very nice rooms, nice casino, etc. Check in took forever when I stayed there
Everything was very expensive there, e.g. a glass of Orange juice was $6 at the restaurant we ate breakfast at.

I am kind of a simpleton however and I actually prefer places with fast food options, and cheaper options.

I know I will be in the minority but I really like Ceasar's Palace. (as long as you get the Agustus tower), This is probably my Go to hotel
Gives you the high end shopping/restaurants as well as the "food court meal for $12" option.
The Casino is massive and every option is available. Has high limit table games, middle of the road games, and low limit ($10-15 blackjack)

When I am going on a budget I actually stay at Flamingo (provided you stay in the Go room). The casino feels like a carnival and catered very much to those with lower level budgets. (I really like the food at Johnny Rockets tho!)

I could never stay at a place like Delano because I like to be able to stumble back to my room after a late night of gambling heh

I am pretty biased as TR gives me 5 days comped without even having to ask for it and everywhere else seems to start at 3 days.
Being from Ontario Canada it takes almost a full day of travel each way so going for less then 5 days seems wasteful

Yes, the Four Seasons and Delano are adjacent to the Mandalay Bay casino. The Four Seasons is in the top of the Mandalay Bay tower and Delano ( formerly THEhotel) has its own tower, which is connects to the MB casino floor near the Sportsbook and the MJ One theatre. The Four Seasons has their own dedicated elevators, so no elevator chaos like the elevators at MB.

We've stayed at all three hotels on the MB property. The MB rooms were showing wear the last time we stayed at that hotel (about 5 years ago). Over the past 10+ years (we average 3-6 trips per year) we have stayed most frequently at Four Seasons. Four Seasons provides an awesome level of service and comfortable suites. We also love the Aria Sky Suites (we haven't stayed in the non-Sky Suites part of Aria) and the SkyLofts at MGM Grand (we haven't stayed in the non-SkyLofts part of MGM Grand).

Any reason you did not mention the Wynn/Encore? I have never stayed there -- only the Bellagio -- we are low rollers. We had a fountain view room - loved it. But even being low rollers they treated us so well.

I think Wynn or Encore would be a good fit for you and Mr. Furi.

I would think you would like either Aria or Wynn/Encore.

I've stayed in the tower suites at Wynn the last four trips. The last trip we had a salon suite and I tried to pay for an adjoining room to make it a two room suite. The price quoted at check in was higher than the price I could book it for online. They said book it online and it won't be the room next to your suite. Love the SW steakhouse there and the tower suite pool area. Nice vibe in the casino bar area.
Noise from clubs can be heard into the wee hours if your on a low floor. Nice that they don't allow strollers in the hotel if your not staying there.

Thought I'd try MGM Skylofts this trip. Leaving in 29 days. Will let you know how that works out. While I'm not a huge fan of the MGM, I will say the pre trip contact and reservations has been amazing.

This is great info Kelly, thank you! Can you tell me the setup of the SkyLofts? Are they at the top of MGM? A separate building? I dislike having to hike to the casino or to restaurants... my shoes are walking prohibitive, typically :) I'm just learning of these, as I explore other options. I likely wouldn't stay at "MGM", but the SkyLofts seem interesting! Do you play at the MGM Casino?

I think we may do the Four Seasons... we like their other properties (outside of Vegas).

I did :) We have never stayed there... or gambled there. We have been there to eat and shop a few times... I was thinking that may be a good place to try :)

Did you find the Bellagio super crowded?

    - - - Updated - - -

Is that where you guys stay Breanna? I was thinking that too... I think we may try it for my birthday trip and maybe Four Seasons for our group trip in September.

I really think we may do Wynn/Encore on my birthday trip in December... I didn't know they didn't allow strollers (that won't be an issue, we don't bring our kids), but maybe that's why I like it so much... ha!

We love SW as well (save for a crappy experience with our seating once)... we LOVE Foie Gras... and the giant frog :)

I would LOVE to hear about your SkySuites experience... we have never been and I haven't been inside MGM in probably, 11-12 years? Do you game at MGM? What's their casino like? I remember it being super open and busy (not a bad thing necessarily)...

Wynn/encore all the way but I do like Aria, Delano/MB suites and certain rooms at MGM. I've never had a good vibe at cosmo myself.

Ok, I'm convinced... I'll do Wynn/Encore... and I think Four Seasons on my two remaining trips this year. Have you ever stayed at SkyLofts, Bronco?

There's something about Cosmo, right? It has a weird, not great vibe... What used to be there, in the whole CityCenter/Cosmo space? For the life of me, I cannot remember. Are those condos that overlooked Bellagio still there? Did they build around them?

I think you'll love Wynn/Encore. It's worth the extra money for the tower suites. Private check in and separate elevators. Nice HL slot area and casino.

The Sky lofts at MGM has a separate drop off area and they check you in in the suite. Mr Furi might like that they pick you up at the airport in a Rolls Royce Ghost.

Yes you do play at the MGM casino. LIke you know it's large and noisy. One plus is you can have breakfast or lunch in the MGM mansion. This is off limits to everyone except invited guests.

Haven't stayed in the sky lofts yet but hoping to be there in October. If not, I will be switching my res to wynn or the sky suites at Aria. I know that it will be a busy holiday weekend in October when I'm there.

Actually have a penthouse booked at Delano for next Monday. Will report back on how my wife and I liked it.

I like staying at a place close to LV Blvd and Flamingo Ave. so I can walk to any of the different casino/hotel in that area (PH, Paris, Bally's, CP, Bellagio, Cosmo, Aria). If you don't really venture outside of where you stay by walking, then it won't really matter. I always stay at PH because I like playing there. Their vibe in the casino at night is upbeat. They play music (turn it up after 8:00PM) and have dancers in three different pit areas they call the Pleasure Pit. It's not an elite hotel like V/P, Wynn/Encore, or Bellagio. I tend to walk to Aria, Cosmo, Bellagio, Paris, and CP during the day. If I didn't get comped at PH, I would probably try either Bellagio, Aria, or Cosmo.

Check out frank67's thread. We reserved a craps table at PH at 9:00 on Sat, Sept. 19th.

BTW, I also grew up in OC. I went to Western High (80s). I actually started working in Orange last February, but I live in South Pasadena (great place to walk to multiple restaurants and bars and even take the Gold Line train to Pasadena or Downtown LA.).

Yes, the SkyLofts are on the 29th floor of the MGM Grand building. The SkyLofts elevators are located on the back side of the VIP lounge. Round trip transportation (the Rolls Royce Ghost or SUV limo) to/from the airport is included in your SkyLofts reservation, a butler is assigned to your suite and can help with unpacking, packing, etc. Check in is accomplished in your Sky Loft, and the limo drops you off and picks up at the Sky Loft office, so no waiting in a crazy line to check in. We don't play a lot at the MGM casino, but it's a quick limo ride to Aria or Mandalay Bay, which are our favorite casinos.

Plus the added bonus of having Hunter on this board is a bonus. I am a PH guy as I love the vibe etc, I do enjoy M-Life there just arent any properties here on the east coast to goto. Thats why I am sticking with TR until MGM comes out at the National Harbor in the DMV....
