Was in AC this weekend at Harrahs resort and I played this game for the very first time, Double Down Stud. It's pretty dumb if you ask me because you're dealt 4 cards and then you decide if you want to draw or double your bet to see the fifth. No holding, no draw, so I'm guessing the odds are terrible. But I was just firing bullets as I'm apt to do in a casino and I hit this about ten hands in. It's was as surprising as if someone came up and handed me $2500. [IMG]

Congrats!!! That beats the $5 I got for four of a kind on Loose Deuces...

So were you dealt three sixes and the joker? Never seen this game before, looks like one of those games it would be fun to take a potshot at. Obviously worked out for you!

Thanks. Yes, I was dealt 3 6s and a joker. They lady next to me (who just left my machine and moved over, oops) knew that was a big hand like four to a royal. Then you double down your bet and the 5th card is revealed. I saw "call attendant" before the last 6. I hope I'm explaining it right even though I didn't understand it when I was playing. I was basically dealt 5 6s and that pays 10000 credits.

So you have to play what's dealt, the only option is you can double before the 5th is revealed? Looks easy and fun to play but it looks like it's a money vacuum.

But I'm very happy it worked out for you! Congratulations!!!

94.3% house edge for that paytable. I'm constantly astounded by CET's greed.

Yeah, that's the roughest dd stud game I've seen. One of my locals has it. In the 96-97% range there.

    Awesome hit though!

Congratulations on your win. Two things that amuse me the most:

    1) You were dealt 6-6-6-Joker. Seems to me that there's a joke in there somewhere.. "The number of the beast" and all.
    2) Your screenshot shows a credit balance of $2514.38. Where did the thirty-eight cents come from? Did you play a penny slot beforehand and insert a TITO into that machine?

Probably. The base bet is 5 credits and the double is obviously ten. I have no idea what a good pay table is for that game because I've never heard of it before, much less played it.

It's pretty mindless because there is no hold or draw so you're dealt 5 cards and that's it. I love the hit but I can't say I like the game much. That was a right place right time thing and other than nostalgia, I doubt I'll play that game much in the future.
