We are heading to Vegas in July from the 8th to the 12th. We have a comped room at Ballys. We have never stayed there and wondered if the people who know that casino well have any tips or suggestions. We are planning on trying the $20 trick at check in but don't want a room with noise. I am only platinum and don't know if the $20 will work with a comped room or not. I know we have a deluxe room in the indigo tower booked for now. Is there some specific upgrade I should ask for?

I also enjoy going to the pool first thing in the morning before the crowds arrive. (we usually stay at Flamingo and the pool can get pretty packed as the day goes on) Will I have a problem finding a chair when the pool opens? Do I need to be in line early?

Any suggestions for morning coffee that is close would be good, as I don't think the room has a coffee maker. Are there restaurants that you would suggest for a quick bite or a nice dinner meal?

Any suggestions that you could share that would make our stay smoother would be great. Thanks!

Bally's is a great place, its my favorite. I am giving the LINQ a try just for something different on my next trip, but I am sure I will end up at Bally's after that. Enjoy!

I agree with Ron....the coffee shop by Bally's check-in desk should be avoided. We go to the pastry shop in the walkway just before entering Paris casino. Always had good coffee to start the day.

Go to the platinum check-in desk....not the general line. Better chance of an upgrade there. Since I am Diamond, we use that room and have had great luck getting a high-up fountain view in the Jubilee tower. We had a very high floor and heard no party noise from the Paris nightclub or the party that we could see going on at the Paris pool one night.

We enjoy the pool at Bally's because it is easy to get a lounge chair, they play more 60's-80's music and it is not so loud where you can actually talk. I am usually at the pool by 11 or so. Another good thing is there are seldom children there. It is not over-run with the 20's party crowd either. You can just relax.

Good luck & hope you have a great trip!

If you are willing to venture outside on a 100+ degree day, across the street Bellagio has Palio coffee house (the one close to the guest elevators; not the kiosk closest to the downstairs corner of LV Blvd and Flamingo). I love sitting there with coffee and a pastry while looking outside the window. Both Aria and Bellagio have Jean Philippe which is another good coffee/pastry shop.

If you like steak, BLT Steakhouse at Bally's has become one of my top 3. They also have Thai food at Sea: The Thai Experience Restaurant which I haven't tried yet.

I haven't stayed at Bally's since I found myself lying down outside my room door early one morning after a night at the Palms' Ghost Bar, Moon, Playboy Club, and Rain, all in one night. When I woke, I looked up and saw another person entering his room down the hall.

I'm pretty sure but not 100% that Bally's is getting a Starbucks.

I heard or saw somewhere and I think I even saw a sign on our last trip that it will be in the shops out front.

There is a second coffee shop at Bally's called Nosh, it is located at the far end of the casino. You can also grab coffee at the Food Court in the shops in the lower level on the way to the pool. Bally's is great because it is connected to Paris via a small indoor shopping area. You can also grab coffee at several of the shops in this area or at the coffee section of the Paris Cafe. For a quick bite you might try Hexx at Paris or Burger Brasserie right outside the Bally's casino on the way to Paris. It also appears the new restaurant is open according to their website Buca Italiano Cafe, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.

If you want to venture out you can cross the valet area and access the Grand Bazaar shops and several places you can get coffee and I agree this is where Starbucks will eventually be.

Never stayed at Ballys but bounce between Bally's, Paris and PH.
There is the pathway of stores going from Paris to Ballys.

I like Bally's community Deal and No Deal machine.
Their high limit slot area has lots of $1 machines.

Try Burger Brasserie on the way to Paris.
I am not a fan of buffets but do like the Paris buffet as many meals are made fresh for you.
If Ballys doesn't have what you need coffee wise then walk through to Paris there will be plenty of options.

If you are booked for an Indigo room and try the $20 trick for an upgrade, you might get a Jubilee room, which is in the South tower...these are renovated rooms, with a mini fridge...just know that, though these are nicer than the Indigo rooms, the Jubilee rooms are farther away from the walkway to the pool area...you would have to traverse the length of the casino to get to the escalator that takes you down to the old shopping area, food court, sports book and pool access...

BLT Steakhouse is amazing, as is Sterling Brunch there. The dealers seem to be friendlier at Ballys and we really like the small casino.

In case you get thirsty there is a full liquor store across the street next to the Stage Door.

Since you are platinum I assume you will be using the invited guest line ( to the far left at checkin) Try to get April. She likes to upgrade. She gave me an upgrade to a suite cheaper than the upgrade email I received the week before arriving. We enjoyed our stay at Bally's in April.

OP did mention that they were looking for a quiet room....based on that I would avoid the Jubilee tower, though you are correct that they are nicer.

I just came back from Bally's last week. I booked an Indigo room but used the tip for a Jubilee room. The Jubilee rooms have walk in showers, a fridge, a coffee maker (with a separate sink/alcove), etc. The Jubilee rooms are further away than the Indigo rooms are for the pool. But i had no problem walking to the pool, just stay to the right side and then use the escalator and walk past the food court/sports book to the pool.
I went to the pool in the morning, before i had lunch and then out for the rest of the day.
My Jubilee room was overlooking Cromwell facing north on the 16th floor. High above the Grand Bazaar.
I heard nothing. I could see the Cromwell crowd having a good time during the day and at night, but i heard nothing, and i was up till 3 or 4 am.
If you get a Jubilee room, get a room like i did, above the 15th floor (6400-7300). You then have a private bank of elevators (on the left side as you walk towards the elevators), to use. They are express up to the 16th floor and above. My room was even #, which is facing north. I had a great view of the Strip, the Wheel, and well beyond.
Noise doesn't bother me so i would have been fine facing Paris, but the only noise i heard was a distant echo of ice dropping just like the old slot machines and the coin buckets.

Just a tip: if you are adamant about a staying in a Jubilee room, which overall is much nicer even though i still like the Indigo rooms, ask for a 16th floor and above in the Jubilee rooms. When you get on the elevator at casino level, you are whisked up to at least the 16th floor quickly. There are two banks of elevators in the Jubilee Tower. Left & Right. Try and get the Left, those are for the higher floors.
Have fun at Bally's, the location can't be beat, that's why i have frequented Bally's so many times over the years, North Tower and South Tower, but last week was the first time i stayed in a new Jubilee room.......and whenever i get the chance to stay at Bally's again, Jubilee it will be.

Agree 1000%. BLT is subpar. Both steakhouses at Paris put it to shame. Actually the steak frites at MAG tops anything at BLT. Sad because BLT in NY is pretty damned good.
