What casinos will let you redeem freeplay offers without booking a room? I know locals get these kinds of offers all the time, but what about for us tourists? I just always assumed that if the offer of freeplay came with a comp or discounted room that I wouldn't be able to use the freeplay unless I took the room too. But from reading other threads it sounds like some casinos might allow you to use the freeplay regardless if you are staying there or not.

Anybody know which do and which don't? All my CET and Mlife offers clearly state they require a stay, so I know they won't. But I've gotten some more vague freeplay offers from various downtown casinos that I would definitely take advantage of when I'm in town, but I don't want to stay there, and the amount of freeplay is not large enough to go through the hassle of double booking comp rooms, or they are only offering discounted rooms with the freeplay.

If I knew I could use the freeplay regardless I would definitely swing by and give them some play, or try other casinos that will give me freeplay in the future.

AFAIK, none of the Downtown casinos require a stay.

I have been using freeplay at the following casinos without staying there:

    the D
    QQQQ
    Golden Nugget
    Binion's
    El Cortez
    Golden Gate

Just so that you know, paid play is a "requirement" for continued offers. How much paid play is still a question mark. I recently got downgraded at the D and I know that my play had slipped.

A friend of mine got $300 in freeplay to try out the cromwell last summer. She did not have to stay there (and didn't). It was a simply a "come check out our casino" offer

Good question because I had the same and was going to post...and I see Dai answered (thanks!)

I have some FP from the Nugget thanks to play over in Louisiana that I wanted to redeem.

I was able to redeem my free play at Cosmopolitan on May 18th without staying there. When I did it the man at the player's club desk said I could still use my offer for free nights until it expired they just wouldn't give me the free play a second time. However 2 weeks after I used my FB at Cosmo they have sent me a new offer with free play and on that one I can use the FP again.

I got FP at Luxor a year and a half ago even though i haven't stayed or played at MGM properties in years. I had a great time, played for hours and my free play put about $300 in my pocket. I do have a MiLife card, and i think the reason was i was playing a buddy's MiLife card to put points on it, and then, since i was already in the casino, decided to put $20 on my own MiLife card and had a good long run.
Of course, i haven't heard from them since.
I actually prefer MGM hotels/casinos as a whole, used to only play there, great mixture, but as a slot player, i like comps, and willing to sacrifice softer and fluffier toilet paper for sandpaper.
Perhaps i may do the $20 trick each day in MGM casinos in a couple of days..........then see what happens later. I wouldn't mind splitting nights at CET and MGM. I have done that before when i would stay and play at both properties.
The mistake i made was i only played one day out of 5 at MGM, which really killed my ADT.

I receive mailers from M Resort informing me of a FP amount, free nights and free buffet. The buffet and FP can be redeemed as per dates on the mailer and there is no stay required.

If you get one of those coupons to insert into the machine, you are covered.

As to offers, most are part of a stay. If it is at least a few hundred, we book the room even if we are not planning to stay.

But, if you use any freeplay offers (with or without a room) and only play the freeplay, you can expect future offers to dry up. You might still get one a month later, but that is often already in the pipeline based on previous pay.

South Point lets you use it without staying. It is auto loaded to your card every month. My MIL came with me and used hers with no problem, room was in my name they didn't know she was there.

I agree, not a good idea if you play on returning & staying there.

Yeah if it's a casino I like playing at I would definitely be giving them more play than just the freeplay.

M Resort doesn't require a stay, just some paid play as well. I get FP added to my player's card on a regular basis and we haven't stayed there in quite a while. But we always give them some play when we stop by.

MSS requires you to be a guest. Whether you stay there or not, is up to you. So, I would assume that would apply to all downtown Boyd properties.

Dang, was hoping they'd dish out some free play like my local SAMs Town does. I get it automatically every 5 days. I'd love some MSS free play. My black chip porter last week got real expensive so I bailed and headed down the street.

Why are people upset over getting a room? - assuming it is comped.

I'm not upset over a room if it's comped and no resort fee and the freeplay is enough for the hassle. But I'm getting like $40 or $25 freeplay offers around town, with either comped rooms (some with resort fees) or discount rooms. Not worth the hassle of checking in/out etc for that amount of freeplay. But if I was near the casino and could use the freeplay without a room I'd be happy to come by and give them some play.

It's the "obligation" of playing there.

I got an offer for $500 freeplay . . except it was at the Wynn and a room stay WAS required. I could've taken it with my V/P stay next week, but that would mean 2 HIGH LIMIT casinos that I'd need to play at to not "lose" my privileges.
