I think the Deuce has a stop close by. Is it still $8 for a 24 hour ticket? Might be the best bet.

    Leaving souvenir shop

So I understand we can get a cab from Ballys to Souvenir Shop. How hard is the walk back to SLS/old Sahara to catch the monorail BACK to Ballys.....major street crossings...distance?? Thanks.......

It's just across the street to SLS.

Just to clarify this part: when you are on "The Strip" in the tourist corridor taxis can only pick up and drop off passengers at the hotels - they can't pick you up on the side of the street if you try to flag one down.

But if you are at that World's Largest Souvenir Shop you can catch a taxi from there back to Bally's: there is a parking lot right out front that they can pull in to and pick you up from. You will need to phone for one or have somebody at one of the souvenir shops checkouts call one for you though as there usually aren't any taxis waiting there.

I would,nt waste your time/money, I went there maybe 4-5 years ago, and they did,nt have anything different from any of the other tat in other souvenir shops, and more expensive than Walgreens. Maybe it is different now, but that is how I found it. Better going to the Gamblers general store on Main St, it is a 5 min walk from Plaza downtown, just my 5c worth.

The walk to the SLS isn't very far, right across the street. Best to go through the air conditioned casino to get to the monorail station although you can just walk on Sahara (along the SLS) to get to the station. Comfortably should take less than 10 minutes to walk to the station (more if walking through the SLS casino).

As others have mentioned, you can also take the Deuce bus to and from Ballys to the Souvenir shop. Bus stops are close by and only a couple of bucks (or $3, I forget) to ride.

This reply should be moved to the coupon section, because you just saved them $30. :)

Good advice. I'd save the $25-30 taxi money and time unless your son would really enjoy it. Lots is similar crap everywhere.

We went to that souvenir shop last December - it was a pit and had the same stuff as everyone else. Save yourself the cabfare!

I have Whittlesea Blue Cab on speed dial on the cell phone. They will pick you up about anywhere. I've used them at offices and shops and such.

Google says it is 0.3 miles from the Bonanza gift store to the SLS monorail stop.

The monorail stop is in the "back" of SLS, the same way it is in the back of Bally's. If you are comfortable/familiar with the distance to the Bally's monorail stop from inside Bally's, the SLS walk will be the same.

As dmr said, a cab can/will pick you up from the Bonanza gift shop, they just don't tend to have a waiting cab line like they do at all the hotels.

And the "only pickup at the hotel" thing really just means you can't hail a cab directly on the Strip. You can be dropped off and picked up by a cab at any address.
