So it looks like I will be staying at CP later this summer for the first time in four years. I am not a fan of CP. But I have some friends coming with me on this trip that really want to stay at CP. The same group of friends wanted to do the same last summer, but I convinced them at the last moment to stay elsewhere. Don't think that will happen this year, so a stay in the Augustus Tower is in my near future.

Also, I made Diamond player level in Tunica last month. Since I rarely play at CET properties anymore, its the first time I have made Diamond and I am hoping some of the CET regulars on here can fill me in on how that helps me at CP. I know I can go to the shorter diamond lines at places like the cage, but that's about all I know. Is there a separate checkin line for Diamond players (or a separate checkin area altogether for the Augustus tower)? I see lots of people on here discuss the "diamond lounge". Where is that at CP? And is it any better or different than the lounge in the high limit area? What about the new refurbished sportsbook. Do they have reserved seating for diamond or is it just 7 star? Any other suggestions or tips of what my diamond status can get me would be appreciated. Thanks

There is a seperate Diamond/7 Star check in. It's in the Agustus tower. There is a Diamond Lounge located in the Agustus Tower, near the Flamingo Road enterance. As a Diamond player, you are allowed to bring one guest into the lounge with you. Ask your host for additional passes. My host has always been able to provide them for me.
The Diamond card will also let you cut some lines....eg cage, buffet.
Also, as a Diamond, you get 2 free show tickets/month. They generally don't include the headliners at CP. They usually have Penn and Teller. The freebies also cover the High Roller and Eiffel Tower.

You can pick up a voucher at the Total Rewards desk for your $100 Diamond Celebration dinner. The desk will have a list of restaurants that you can use it at.

Thanks for the info. For the monthly show tickets, do I just go to the TR desk?

Yes, you can go to any TR desk and they will print you out a voucher. You then need to take that voucher to the appropriate box office to get your tickets.

When will you be there? I'm in Vegas Aug 13-17. If your dates line up, I'm happy to give you my tickets, so you have 4 since you're with friends.

The show tickets aren't for the elite shows, but there might be shows on the list you may want to see. You get to use the Diamond line at the cab stop which is really nice if it's during the evening when lines can be long. Of course there's no such line if you're coming back from a non-CET property. Some of the casinos allow you to get better alcohol while you are playing if you are Diamond, but whether they actually serve it to you may be a different story.

I usually don't stay at the Diamond Lounge that long. I think I go just because I can. Their snack selection isn't really to my preference. It's around 10 different items including perhaps a vegetable plate with dressing, chips and salsa, French fries, sliders or chicken wings, cookies, etc They have a computer kiosk in the lounge (or at least they used to before everybody had smartphones) you can use if you want to check things out on-line.

If you shop at one of their stores, you can get a percentage discount on some of the items you purchase.

If you reach Diamond 40,000 points, you get things like monthly High-Roller Observation Wheel tickets and another $100 dining voucher. 80,000 points has even more items, but I'm not sure what as that is out-of-reach for me.

Thanks, but different dates. There will only be three of us, so I will probably get free High Roller tickets if that is an option and then use some reward credits to buy the third

The Augustus Tower is on Flamingo Road entrance. They have their own valet parking here and going in and out via this valet parking is very easy. The diamond lounge is located right by this valet entrance as well as the 7*/diamond special check-in room. All very convenient if you like to use valet parking. I don't like valets driving my rental car so I have a problem using valet parking. The problem I have with the Augustus Tower is that self parking is on the opposite side of the property and literally about a 1 mile walk from your room in the Augustus or Octavius Towers. The rooms are so far over towards Flamingo that if you use this valet entrance you are as close to Bellagio as you are to Caesars (just use the outside elevator by the overpass to Bellagio). As they say, a two edged sword.
The diamond lounge may cost you $10comp/person to get in unless you have 25,000TP. I don't see the point as drinks are free at the machines and there is no decent food (Atlantic City has a full buffet). Any rewards desk has a list of all the shows available to you; two tickets per month. If you go between 2 months you can get 2 tickets twice. If you don't use a car in LV you can cut the taxi line with a diamond card...very handy in the evenings.

Thanks for the info, Newmans. I'm a Diamond player staying at CP in 3 weeks so your info is appreciated. Could you confirm that Diamond players no longer have access from the Flamingo st entrance so we need to cab it to the main entrance?

The diamond lounges in Vegas do not charge admission.

I believe only limos have access to the flamingo rd entrance now.

I only stayed at CP once, and it is a very nice property with nice rooms. While I got all the diamond benefits that have been mentioned, I gotta say the diamond experience at CP for lower diamond level members like myself is not as good as at Paris or PH. For example, at diamond check-in I got downgraded from Augustus to the Palace Tower. Still a very nice room, but I would of preferred the location of the Augustus tower. When I asked if they had rooms in Augusts, I was told very nicely, "Yes, but not for you." This was the only time this has ever happened at a CET property for me. Usually at Paris, PH, or in AC I get at least the level of room I reserved.

There is no tier credit requirement to use the Diamond Lounge in Vegas.....I've only seen that in AC.

My host booked me into an Augustus Room later in June with tickets to Reba. I'm pretty sure I would be a lower Diamond player and if I was downgraded like that, I wouldn't care how nicely they told me that, they would have a problem to deal with.

You are correct. I used it this past weekend. Something that was new was a sign on the median in the left turn lane on Flamingo going into the Valet area. It clearly said it was for 7 Stars only.

They must have gotten enough complaints to change it back. It had been shut down all together other than for limos for a while whereas before you could valet and even catch a cab there (in addition to being dropped off).

I'm not sure why they shut it down in the first place but hopefully they will extend that to Diamond as well.

Not getting the room you have reserved is a big problem.

Seems rather short sighted to close it down. The lines at the front/main checkin are terrible. Made even worse by the policy of only calling ONE cab up at a time instead of doing 2-3 at once. Insane out there.

Don't feel like the lone stranger. The first time I ever stayed at CP (I was and still a 7 star) I had the host book a room in either the Augustus or Octavius tower. When I checked in - they gave me a room in either the Forum or Palace Tower. It was a petite suite so that was nice - just not the view.

    I prefer staying at Paris.
