Just booked my free 2 night stay at DTG. First time though I've been getting those monthly cards in the mail with stuff like 2 free weeknights for over a year now. Offer: 2 free weekday nights, $15 dining credit, and was orig. $50 Free Slot Play but got another card saying that they doubled it to $100, so can't wait to give them a try.
Was wondering if there is anything I should ask for at the desk when I check in like will/can they do a room upgrade on the comp nights if I try the $20 trick and is it worth it? Should I request a certain tower or floor? Early check-in not a problem on Tues?
Anyone use these deals and comments? Is the Free slot play just slots, not VP and any recommended machines to make the most of the slot play? ( I usually do table games or VP)

I used the twenty dollar sandwich last week and was upgraded. Room was nice. Free play can be used on VP. I was on a two night free deal as well. I belive the guy said I was upgraded to a "premium "room. It was in the same tower as casino.

I usually req the casino tower because it's closer to the casino. I'm sure the other one isn't that bad, and the nice thing about it is the easy access to the commissary in the morning. free coffee, comfortable lounging, and good breffest burrito..

I finally was able to take advantage of the two night offer, free play, dining, etc., for my August trip at the Grand and then staying at the CAL for the remaining seven nights.....all comped). My sister and I are excited to explore the casino/hotel further as we both loved the vibe of the casino during our brief visits last year. Good advice on requesting casino tower.

We have an early morning arrival and when making the reservation, the front desk made a note that we were an "early check in". I hope that helps with having a room available at 10:00 a.m.

Hogs & Heifers on 3rd street can be loud into the night, so if that is a concern request an odd # room in the casino tower or even # in the west tower.

Back from the trip; didn't see the above post till after i had my room. Yes, loud in the odd rooms of the West tower (across the street over the enclosed bridge), even on the 25th floor. Old, thin windows. Usually stopped towards 1AM but this is mid-week. Sounded more like it was coming from the stage straight down the block from Freemont, not H&H below.
Pool was nice, set up for adult fun. Casino was good. Light activity but mid-week right after holiday. Was able to convert most of my $100 Free Play. Hit the max bonus on the Wheel of Fortune $1 for my Mom at home (lucky Mom). Got enough tier points on my card to get a bottle of La Crema wine on the last day of that promotion. Free daily coffee on 1st floor Commissary was nice; down the elevator, fill up, right back to room! Breakfast sand from them one morning (w coupon from checkin pack) which was good though they goofed and put it on a bagel while I had asked for croissant.
DT Grand is nice, clean and worth the $ which is cheap. Staff tries and it shows. 2nd only to the Nugget for sure.
