I double booked a room for my brother at Downtown Grand for next Friday, 5/29, checking out June 1st. Anyway, my brother had to cancel his trip, so today I called to try and change the room from 2 queens to 1 king. My wife and I may use the room one night, but for sure she is going to use it as a changing room while she uses the pool.

No luck on getting the bed change. She said they are sold out that Fri & Sat. I was happy to hear that since I want to see them survive. I like the hotel and even the VP bartop paytables, but it is just hard for us to give up the MSS perks.

Glad to hear they are are doing better. My impression is that downtown and strip are doing much better in general. Wonder if this could result in re-opening closed towers. Binions , Las Vegas club.

I'll be checking into the DTG next Friday afternoon for 2 nights so it looks like the place will be hoppin' that weekend! So looking forward to it.

Hope to see you there Joe! Either there or Boar's/MSS.

Isn't Binions in desperate need of repair?

I've never stay there but from what I hear it needs a complete renovation.

    Don,

Ya that's what we were discussing. Should they think about reopening.

Just another cost that needs to be considered. I'm just saying if Downtown continues to expand and if occupancy increases, room rates increase etc. at some point even those rooms in need of asbestos abatement and renovation become viable again. I also don't think I would put money into it but would like to see it happen.
