Yeah. I'm almost thinking of going to somewhere coastal (Santa Barbara?) for a few days if I don't start getting some relief soon.

I'll go to the doctor and try to get that prescribed.
I drank probably 20 green teas with honey this weekend.

Not from Vegas, but from a similarly dry area....
If you only have one humidifier, and it's not a whole house one, you likely need at least one more. I have one in our bedroom and one in the main living area. I refill each twice a day this time of year when the humidity is in the single digits...

Try adding tea tree and eucalyptus essential oils to the humidifiers. It helps a lot to soothe the airways and open things up.

+ 1 on the codeine though. Works crazy good, and fast!

Boil ginger root in water...add honey and lemon...drink. My mom also always tells me to eat lots of Asian Pear when I have the everlasting dry cough. My Mother-in-Law makes the same "ginger root tea", but also adds slices of Asian Pear, so there must be some merit to the Asian Pear...lol.

I wish codeine was over the counter in the states. Is it still OTC in Canada-land?

No - sadly not. When my son had the whooping cough scare my Dr friend could only give a prescription for Tylenol 3, otherwise everything else was considered narcotics and would have to do the whole triple form big production here. But the T3 was ASTONISHING in how immediate it worked - I couldn't believe it.

I would agree with the cough syrup with codeine. I great night's sleep does wonders! Is your cough persistent? An inhaler may work as well.
I tend to get dry coughs when I am sick. I have tried so many home remedies and nothing has worked for me. But great sleep does wonders!

Plee - best to hit a Doc in a box place if you are still in Vegas. There's one on Audrie, right behind Paris that I've used.

In 2008 I started with a dry cough and it turned into pneumonia and a 32 day stay as I was too sick to fly home. The initial cough was probably due to an allergy they said.

Don't screw with home remedies, get some professional advice.

One positive outcome to a persistent dry cough, is you will be rocking a nice 6-pack when you finally shake it [emoji123]

Hasn't worked for me. Allergies in the Northeast (NY, NJ, PA, and MA) have me coughing and sneezing like crazy, but I don't have a six pack, just a keg. LOL

You're just not using proper coughing technique...you have to try to hold your cough as long as possible, so people around you don't think you have some super contagious disease...hold from the diaphram and then release with short repetitive and muffled machine gun coughs.

Best to find the root of the cough. If it's temporary from the dryness, have a spa day and sit in the steam room. Bally's and South Point have nice ones that use eucalyptus, I'm sure others do too. I just have experiences there. If it's a persistent cough, please see a doctor. It can be something serious, for my mom it was lung cancer. They initially suspected Valley Fever since it's fairly common, more so in Pahrump than Vegas, but it does happen. If it's allergies, you can do testing to learn your triggers. I did that years ago and followed up with allergy shots that helped me tremendously.
