I was just fiddling around on the V/P site and saw that they have brought this game back...finally. I LOVE playing Spanish 21.

    Anyone else enjoy it?

I am giddy about this development.

Very interesting...have never seen it in Vegas. Both Connecticut casinos have it widespread.

Considering how they torched blackjack, I'm surprised they would bring it back.

I played this long ago when Missouri still had the game. Once a dealer pushed me when I should have lost. I didn't say anything because profitable opportunity and all that. Guy next to me says "I won't say anything, but also says something with the word 'karma' in it" to me, sure as shit he was right!

I first saw it at Cosmo several years ago. I sat down and enjoyed it immediately...I think I sat there for six hours? Ended up winning money and getting the fine dealer's phone number. Met up with her the next night and on a subsequent trip. I think she moved back to CA now.

Then I discovered it at V/P and played it so much that is the game that got me on their comp radar and began the free room offers.

They have it all over the place back home in Pennsylvania too...

I went back to Vegas and the tables all disappeared. So I am pumped they brought it back. It looks like many people, like I did, filled out a customer comment card because on their site it says back by popular demand or something like that.

The match the dealer bet is cool and has saved my bacon plenty of times. I also dig the double at any time (ex draw a 3 3 5 you can then double for the fourth card).

Awesome news! Love this game, for both the varied BJ payouts and a fun "Match the Dealer" side (sucker) bet. Playing this game at a full table is a blast...of course, you have to play it "Detroit style" where you bet the table min for blackjack bet and then $20 or $25 or more on the side bet hoping to get a perfect match for a 9 to 1 payout! Actually see people play this way and win...and that's what keeps them coming back! And no 6 to 5 BJ payouts here!

They also have this in AC but I've never played it. I think there is a bonus for a suited total of 21? Ex. 876 of hearts on your hand?

Haha people do that in PA too...heavy bets on the match the dealer and table min on the regular hand.

I love the immediate payout on the 21 too...also the bonuses for the more cards it takes you to get to 21.

Honestly this has swayed me to book my entire upcoming trip at Palazzo

Considering the "wizard of odds" expects you to get paid 11 to 1 on a suited dealer match for a 3% HA game, I'm worried about the rest of that paytable if a suited match is only 9 to 1. Probably double digit land.

Base game should be great though!

It throws me off a bit and others too when you sit down and have to get yourself out of the regular blackjack BS mode. For example you are incentivized to take that shot at getting a 6-7-8 21...

Or even better the suited 7 bonus with a dealer 7 up! What an ingenious rule! And that barely makes a dent in the house edge, but just adds a little jackpot element. Hope you can hit that next trip!

    You and me both, Tring!

I'd take a nice $5000 hit to start off!

I never get people who have no problem taking money when they did not win but if they are shorted a pink chip they scream high heaven.

What are the rules for this? What makes it exciting?

It's mainly blackjack, but with no tens in the deck, which helps the house greatly, but there are multiple other rules/bonus payouts that help the player and keeps the game at a sub 1% house edge.

I went to the Wizzard site for Spanish 21, thanks for the link Trig. Does anyone know if the V/P has any major rule variations from the general rules that are on the Wizzard's site? Thanks in advance.....

I don't recall any deviations, Mike. If my memory is right it is just like described there. Hopefully they didn't bastardize it because it really is a fun game!

Indeed it is! I was bummed when it disappeared from V/P and Cosmo.

I was at Venetian on Memorial Day weekend. There is one big difference from the normal rules - they did not allow "double double". So if you double on a 9 and get a 2, you can only stay, hit or surrender. Not sure how that impacts the house edge, but it definitely is in the house's favor
