OK< I have over 11,000 of these. What can I/ should I do with them? Any reason to just let them accumulate?

Are they TC (Tier Credits) or RC (Reward Credits)?

TC you can't do anything with. They are strictly for determining level. RC are spendable, and will expire if you don't have any hotel or casino action in 1 year.

11,000 RC are worth about $110.00 and are convertible into Freeplay at any Total Rewards venue.

Aren't worth $110 of freeplay though. We typically use them for rooms or food.

I thought the expiration for RCs was 6 months? Did they just recently change it?

No. My bad. Apparently there is a six month expiration on RCs. I was confusing it with mLife, where the limit is 1 year.

    From the TR website:

We appreciate your interest in the Total Rewards program! Your Reward Credits will stay active as long as you earn one Reward Credit every six months. If you only visit once per year, there are several ways to keep your balance active:

Shop at the Total Rewards Marketplace just once every six months and your Reward Credits won't expire (earn 1 Reward Credit for every $1 you spend at hundreds of your favorite online retailers. Please know that Reward Credits earned from purchases made through the Marketplace take 45 days to post to your account.

Purchase at least $5 in virtual coins by playing any of our TR Social games on Facebook. Reward Credits earned from purchasing coins will post to your account within 7 days of each purchase.

Apply for the Total Rewards Visa and earn Reward Credits for your purchases. Reward Credits earned from purchases made using your Visa will post to your account within 5 business days of each purchase.

If they're TierCredits, then you need 4000 more to make diamond (because any more than 5000 is going to waste, unless you get diamond)
    If they're RewardCredits..go have a nice $110 meal.

Most restaurants on CET property, give them your card and ID and ask to use your reward credits. There are a couple exceptions though, I think "Mon Ami Gabi" is one of them.

No there is no good reason to let them accumulate. In fact, the more you have on the books means the less discretionary comps you can get. The ability to accumulate was designed to help low rollers in the local casinos outside of Vegas earn comps as they generally didn't get comps under the old program and Harrah's need to give them an incentive to keep grinding. The majority of restaurants in CET casinos (not the malls) can simply swipe your card to use RCs to pay your bill. The same goes for most gift shops. You can also use them to settle room charges at the end of the trip.

I have 80-something thousand RCs...guess I'll be blowing some out at the end of the month, as we won't be staying at a CET property.

A few years ago at Harrah's AC you were able to get Cash for the points on a 2 for one basis. Not sure if this is still possible there or ever was in LV.
That Race-to-Rewards promo they did a few years ago for two years was awesome..buddy and I maxed it out and I got the Harrah's Visa which is still a good deal..
Have about $70 left, but that paid for many many Starbucks coffees and take-out food for dinner..

So I go to a buffet in say- Harrah's- and give them my TR card to swipe to pay for the meal for my wife and myself?

RC expire 6 months from the last time you earned a TC. You can keep it and let it accumulate as long as you use your card and earn at least 1 TC and the expiration renews from that day for another 6 months.

I typically use my RC for food at a 100RC to $1 rate.

I've got about 270,000 saved up and plan to use them all in July. Most will go to pay my hotel bill, but we'll probably use the rest for BurGR or Bacchanal Buffet.

In my experience, the staff get confused when you say you want to pay with "reward credits." They always responded with, "Oh, you want to pay with points."

I have had one or two issues with not being able to "pay with points." Last trip, at Pin-Up Pizza at PH, the cashier said my card had only $2 worth of points. This led to a few moments of semi-panic where I thought I'd lost $200 worth of credits. I got a confusing explanation at the TR booth in Bally's, something about how sometimes individual properties (like PH) aren't able to access all your points, all the time. They advised me to always check first before trying to use the points.

Also, note that if you "pay with points," there's no sales tax, which is nice.

We always charge everything to our room and then pay with our RC (points) when we check out. It's so easy to do it like that. Have fun spending them in November! :)

Correct. If the restaurant you want doesn't directly accept them go to the TR desk and ask them for a food credit. Just returned and learned this with the Ramsey Steak house told us they didn't accept Rapid Rewards, they do. We had almost 70,000 credits and had most of our meals using them.
