I am thinking there is no charge left to tax, in most cases. I know the state of Nevada was trying to change that. Not sure how far it got.

For most, tips are not usually comped. If you room charged and didn't pay a gratuity in cash, the gratuities you room charged would hit your credit card.

In AC Ceasars properties charge tax on comped rooms. Comp rooms at CET in Vegas, unless diamond or seven stars, you pay the resort fee and taxes ( on the resort fees).

I've had stays as long as ten nights at Monte Carlo, Aria, Belaggio and when I've checked out all I've paid were the meal tips. Charge everything to your room. My Express Comps haven't been raided, stolen, extorted nor sucked up like CET always did (without necessarily getting my permission sometimes)

I wouldn't expect tips to be comped, but was curious about taxes. So, in A/C you still pay them, in Vegas you don't. I guess in A/C if you end up getting most other things comped, $50 or do in taxes wouldn't be too bad!

It's not really room tax. In NJ there is a state travel and tourism fee of $15/night. You're not paying sales tax on the price of the room.

I only paid taxes once when everything was comped, NYNY said they could not comp the meal taxes, even though they comped the meals. Every other Mlife property I have stayed at did not charge me the meal taxes.
