I know the answers for this question will vary, based upon age, personality, intent, but....

Does Vegas have a visiting expiration date?

Like clockwork, I can go for 5 (full days) and 4 nights, then I have a physical and mental breakdown. Granted, I run around like an animal, but was wondering if others feel the same.

With me the expiration threshold is more associated with my gambling budget.

I would think 3 or 4 nights is the sweet spot, unless you are very disciplined and pace yourself on every aspect of the trip. Drinking, gambling, walking, and of course the overeating of rich foods.

I travel w the wife. Our standard was 4 nights. Would not do shorter due to cross country flight. This year we upped it to 5. We always say wish we had an extra day
Plan to use it for pool lounging and more relaxing than running everywhere.
Had 4 + full nights last year. Got in very late first night. It was one of our favorite trips yet.

    Four nights is perfect.

I don't even run that wild (I'm usually in bed sometime around midnight because I know I won't be able to sleep past 6 or 7, and I hate being draggy and crabby, and I actually like early-morning Vegas)--but five nights would be too long.

Twice we've done three nights and it was too short.

We once did Vegas for two full weeks. That was waay too long! Granted, some of the days it was business, but it was just too much by the end.
We've done Vegas for a week many times, but that included a few days of business and the rest was pleasure and I think we were just ready to go home on day 7.
We did two and a half days last January and I felt that was too short.
I guess for us, 4-5 days is perfect especially if we had no business to attend to.

I can do 5-6 nights easily... to go longer than that really depends on how things went the first few nights, especially gambling (winning, or at least breaking even, while gambling always gives me strength to keep going)

It's a little results dependent on us, but we really like our usual 6 night set up. Of course the first time I went back to Vegas w/my g/f, we both sorta agreed that 4 nights was enough. But that's before we started to realize other places we liked.

We've done 3 nights, too short
We've done 6 days and 5 nights (arriving early AM and leaving on the red eye) too long
We've done 4 nights, arriving midday and leaving early afternoon...perfect...
also done the red-eye after 4 nights, and thats pushing it to the "Expiration date"

4 nights arriving early on the first day works best for me.. Giving yourself plenty of time to get settled in and enjoy the first day is always worthwhile.

But not too early, Have gotten up at 3am Eastern time for a 6 am flight that had two connections arriving in LV around 1015a their time..great I am there early on a Saturday, only to doze off while watching the hockey playoffs in Caesars sports book (and I was much younger then!) I was in bed before midnight which would have been 24 hours after I really woke for my flight (do the math!!) That was a waste of a Saturday in LV.

    a. no or limited connections and b. leave no earlier than 730a EST/EDT otherwise you push day one's expiration date

It seems that with each trip that I always want them to be longer. Our first 4-5 trips were all 4 nights and at that time it seemed fine because we didn't do a whole lot or see a lot of different things. Plus, we didn't have a padded bankroll because we still had 4 kids at home. (still don't have a big bankroll, but certainly bigger than the 'old days') Since then we've done anywhere from 5-8 nights and find that we like the longer ones much better, in fact, I was not ready to come home after the last 7 night trip. We don't go full tilt, but like to have lazy mornings, leisurely days filled with some relaxation, drinks  early in the day, maybe some pool time if the weather allows, wandering in the afternoon hitting the casinos, and maybe seeing a show or two or some other touristy crap somewhere along the week. We don't go full tilt because I hate to waste a day stuck with a hangover...been there, done that!! Our next trip (Nov-Dec) will probably be for about a week, but the following trip (likely April for our anniversary) I want to extend that trip out for 8-10 nights....call me crazy but I just can't help myself. Expiration date...?? Maybe on one of these trips I may be ready to go home when the time arrives.

Our first trip was 4 days. Next time it was 5, then 6, then 7, now we are up to 8 on our last trip. I know 4 days is to short. We are east coasters and it seems like you spend most of the day getting there. I haven't found my expiration date yet though. I guess I'll have to keep trying!

Like a few others have mentioned - my expiration date depends on my budget for a particular trip. If I hit my bankroll floor I'm ready to go because that obviously means I've been taken out to the woodshed by sevens and no dealer busts.

When we started our Vegas excursions we ended up going four times in five months because we loved it so much. On the first trip we were there from Wednesday night and returned on the redeye Saturday night so we'd have a recovery day Sunday. It wasn't enough time and subsequently we returned four times in five months. Couldn't get enough!

In that five month span the trips ranged from quick hitters (Friday night after work flights returning Sunday redeye and going to work - hated it and it was a murderous Monday) to Thursday-Monday.

I've found my sweet spot to be four to five nights. If I'm staying longer it'll be because of an expanded bankroll or I've extended the trip because I'm winning.

I don't really care for short trips like in Friday night and out Sunday afternoon.

5 or 6 nights for me. Anything shorter I feel is a waste especially with the price of flights, and I like to make 3-4 trips a year.

I've read that 2-3 nights is the average, but for me its 4-5, and same thing happens to me, pretty much the last day i'm thinking 'i am so done with this place, never coming back... pfffft' Four months later I'm back on this site and planning another 5 day trip.

Our first trip was one week, felt like we still had so much we wanted to do. We've gone for 10 days every time since then, which is max I can take off work. We're not drinkers though. Even with that much time, when we leave, we still feel like we want more time. I did a 4 day with Mom and sis for Mom's 65th, and it was fun too, but I really enjoy the longer vacation.
