3 weeks ago I booked 5 nights comped (4/29-5/4) at Flamingo because that was the only CET hotel that had all 5 nights comped. This past weekend I noticed that Planet Hollywood now had comp rooms for the same 5 day stay. However neither the wife, nor I, like PHo...but we both love Ballys. Low and behold...with less than 6 days before Vegas, all the standard Jubilee and North tower rooms open up for the same 5 days. Sooooo I just rebooked my 5 days in a Jubilee non-smoking strip view room (with 2 queens).

Clearly (IMHO) the crowds that many thought were coming to Vegas next week just aren't materializing. Probably because no 1 actually could see their tickets for the fight till today. And flights are at least double what they were 3 weeks ago (no matter where you are flying from). I guess I should thank Team Mayweather, MGM and Bob Arum for holding up everything until today. Worked out good for me!!

Thanks for sharing, I was wondering about this just today. I have thought for awhile now that the prices all over town where just too far out of whack. Now of course the atmosphere will be noticeably different, but non MGM properties don't have a lot to offer since they can't really show the fight. So bagging a CET room or any non MGM room may be just a little easier than most thought. It's been an intriguing watch on how the fight has developed and how the city will do.

I read an article from the Review Journal that quoted some prices for that night, it's no surprise they aren't completely selling out. I'm just a little pee on, but I'd have to think I'd rather have people taking up my rooms, even if they aren't paying for them, and losing their money in my casinos, as opposed to having nobody in the rooms at all.

Hope you have fun! I've been in town on a fight night before, it can be a bit, well, crowded. I have a feeling this one will be insane.

Thanks for heads up! Not getting my Ballys room for free on fri/sat but I called after seeing your post and my price just dropped to less than 1/2 (now just $100 for jubilee room). I'm an mlife, v/p, Wynncore devotee but they all failedme and I landed at Ballys because only cet gave me price I could stomach. I rarely play there..might be time to cultivate some cet lovin

I wonder if it will approach NBA All Star weekend bedlam. Probably a good idea to pick another weekend to head to Vegas unless you have tickets to the actual event. Otherwise, I'd stay north of Flamingo Ave.

Well, I'm about as close as you can get to being north (right a)Flamingo. But good advice. Saturday night I plan on hanging out at Sante Fe casino where things should be extremely calmer than the strip!

I think there was some artificial price inflation. But I am guessing they also had some cancellations when people realized that you could only see a simulcast at an MGM property. I don't think that there will be NBA All Star mayhem but if there is, it will probably be concentrated at or near MGM itself.

that's always the way it is for these events.

the only mayhem is at MGM.
