SonOfSandaFan asked for a trip report but it won't be live due to data rates. I will try updates when I get internet access and post Picts

We have a very detailed itenerart so should have s lot of interesting Picts

    Hope you enjoy

Seoul is a fascinating city. Lots of local culture. I don't know if you've been there before, but make sure that you visit the "old palace",

Built in 1395, it is located in northern Seoul, South Korea. The largest of the Five Grand Palaces built by the Joseon dynasty,

    Gyeongbokgung Palace
    161 Sajik-ro, Jongno-gu, Seoul, South Korea

Lots of history there. Of course there Gangnam, and Toksan.

Hmmmmmmm. I think I'll have Bulgogi and Kalbi for dinner tonight.

    Enjoy!!!

This is our first trip to Korea even though my wife is Korean. Yes that is on the list as well as DMZ, another palace, several shopping areas and a couple shows, Nanti I Think.

We are also going to visit the areas her ancestors came from on the southeast end of the peninsula. We really do have a detailed itenerary, more so than Vegas. Subway routes, hi speed train, etc. should be fin just hope we can keep up.

We have a couple highly recommended BBQ places from Korean websites so really excited about the bulgogi and kalbi. I like Dolsot bibimbap. So plan to have that often. It will be a great adventure. I will try to update at nights if I have Internet.

Thanks I will keep that in mind. I am certainly open to this being a viable source of nutrients and protein.....just not for me. DW figures with the length of the trip she better throw in a few western meals. I plan to try as much cooked varieties as I can but will be ready for some ribs, Thai and Indian.

I missed the Gangnam part. We are staying near the main station and north Seoul tower part of the trip and then Gangnam for the end of the trip. Travel to southeast in the middle.

This is a snazzy lounge. They came around to make sure everyone to Shanghai was on this plane. Used to fly these to Asia all the time.

Also quite a selection of alcohol. In addition to Grey Goose, Hendricks, Johnny Walker black and others they also have these two I read about on the message board. Trying the Jordan now. Yum

Have fun out there! I visited Korea this past November (japan too) and had a blast. I was lucky, I flew business class on Korean air and it was the best ride I ever took (seats recline all the way down). I used my mom's delta miles (on Korean) since she won't be travelling much (in a care home) so it was almost free.

One suggestion, if you buy clothes make sure you try them on first. I bought t shirts but didn't realize that a Large shirt in Korea is probably a small or medium size for us in America. I couldn't use the shirts I bought and just gave them away to friends and family.

Lots of places to see in Seoul. Their transportation system (train) is top notch and they also announce everything in English in addition to Korean (and Japanese and Chinese I think).

I visited a casino in gangnam area but they didn't have craps, mostly bj and bac and lots of machines.

There is a new lotte mall that has a uni glo store and other stuff.

btw, the selfie sticks are really cheap there, you might be able to pick one up from street vendors for only $4 if you bargain with them. You should pick up a bunch of them and come back here and sell them for $15. Still cheaper than the $20 that is charged in the US.

Well we had a short night waking up every hour or so. Just finishing breakfast at the hotel. Almost as expensive as Bachannal with a fraction of the choices. Try somewhere else tomorrow but no time to look today. Car picks us up soon.
