Hello, We are getting ready to plan our next trip to Las Vegas. I am by no means a High Roller, but I was looking for some insight to if I should expect any offers from MGM. We stayed there last August. We do gamble up and down the strip and even down town. I play Pai Gow poker the most any where from 50-300/hand. I also play craps, blackjack and slots at a lower stakes. Last year I was rated at 10 hrs at $70/hand. I think that was low but that is what I was rated. Like I said I know that I am a low roller, but I have friends. and have read on this forum of others getting room comps, free play, food and beverage ect. with what seems to at or below what I play. Is it odd that I have not received anything at all from Mlife? Just curious. Thanks for your feedback.
May seem like an obvious question, but did you play with an mlife card? If so, at the very least, you generated some express comps. I would suggest going to the mlife website, logging in, and seeing what offers you have there
My opinion would be to check the mLife website and see what offers you have. Don't wait for an invitation . . .
Thanks UK. Yes I always made sure to use my card. I also have a LOC there and I contacted a host before and after. They took pretty good care of me at check out by taking care of our show tickets one night and I think $90 of food. I guess I was assuming I would get an email or something in the mail. I get free room offers every month from hotels downtown and I hardly played there. I know apples to oranges.
Stop gambling up and down the strip. Casino marketing for mlife only looks at what you spend at their property when making offers. So, if you spend one hour playing $50 blackjack at a the Aria, the most you'll get is a discount rate. I believe a host has the ability to look at all of your play throughout the casinos, but at mlife they want you to concentrate on your home casino. CET works different in that they don't really care which casino you gamble as long as you stay in the family. Gamble a majority of your bankroll at the casino you're staying at. If you still want to gamble up and down the strip, do it for smaller or small stakes. And, if you do play for smaller/small stakes, don't give them your mlife card. It'll ruin your average.
Did you just put in your dates for a booking, then check the rates it offered you? If so, that wont tell you what comps you might be entitled to. When you log into MLife, there should be a box under teh "My Offers" section that says something like "Your Mlife Spring Offer". If you have something like that, click on the box then when it opens up, click on the logo of the hotel you'e interested in and see what the offer is. If that all works and delivers something you're interested in, you then need to call the VIP services line to make the booking and get the offer. I'm a fairly low roller but have comp nights as well as freeplay and resort credit at the Aria booked for June based on my play last August also.
Bribhoy- that's what I did, and it showed rooms at a rate that really wasn't much of a discount. Undathesea- thanks for the advise. I emailed the host I set up my line of credit with to see what he had to say. My wife and I really don't care what hotel as long as it is nice, and she wont stay downtown. We hit it pretty hard in Vegas so we like to be somewhat close to home base late at night so we can find our way to the room. We have stayed at Aria, Bellagio, TI, IP, MGM and Excalibur so we are not married to a particular hotel. It wasn't until I discovered Vegasmessageboard that I even paid attention to getting cards and using them. Rooms are cheap in Vegas already but hell if I can get them comped I thought I would give it a shot.
I had been getting regular mailers a few years ago and then they suddenly stopped for no reason. My play hadn't changed. My offers on the website were steadily increasing so I stopped by the mLife desk to inquire. Somehow during a software update my zip code was changed to 00000 so nothing was being sent out. They fixed it, I get mailers. Perhaps this has happened? It is a poorly written and maintained but very complex system. Tier credits and Express Comps are updated pretty much real time. At least that impresses me.
Thank you all for your feedback. I got a response from MGM for 2 comp nights and 2 nights for next to nothing.
The website and whoever manages it are a joke. I was at Skysuites last week for 4 nights. Got Suite and all F+B comped. The best offer on the MLife website, and has been for a couple months,is a slight discount at every property. No comp rooms,no promo chips,no freeplay,no resort credit.
Are you and your wife's mlife cards linked? Did you check her account to see if she has any offers? All of our offers show up on my account no matter how much my husband plays.
