    My Trip Report

Hey VMB, Tbone3336 here hoping to provide a somewhat live-ish report from my last minute booked Quantum of the Seas sailing from Bayonne NJ to the Bahamas leaving this Friday for 8 days.

I had a Vegas trip booked for next week that got cancelled to take this trip with some family.

You can expect some gambling exploits I hope along with hopefully pics and videos of the ship and our port and excursions.

I am creating the thread now as I will be a bit busy until Thurs. night so I am not sure if the trip report guidelines for not starting until one leaves applies in the non vegas section but if so please move to misc if needed.

Booking as last min as we did there was only a balcony cabin that is only 198 square feet left but has a balcony so no extravagant suite unfortunately, as on cruises we try for a nicer room usually but will manage.

I have been lazy in getting new luggage and I am hoping my old beater case makes one more trip without exploding :)

Also in addition to my lucky gold coin, on cruises I bring my lucky key charm I won on a putt putt golf tourney from a cruise years ago:

Our ports of call are Port Canaveral, where we will take an excursion to Disney, Royal Caribbean's Private Island cococay is next, beach day, then Nassau is last, with the water park and casino at Atlantis as my excursion.

Hope the internet connection allows me to upload some decent pics but updates probably wont be as often as when cell service is available.

Anyway look for live updates starting Friday with boarding of the ship and thanks for checking in.. Tbone out for now..

Thanks broncofn! I seem to miss all the meets in AC lately, as I missed Landryballa a couple of times as well. Would have loved to meet up for some drinks and gamble. I will be following along no matter what. Good Luck and enjoy Bobby Flays!

Here are a few glimpses of the Quantum taken last Thanksgiving while in Nassau on a cruise on NCL Breakaway:

Also, this being a Vegas themed site, obviously, and us loving Vegas, there will be, hopefully plenty of gambling action to report with some VP/Craps Porn, along with trying Baccarat..

The breakaway is the NYC themed ship right? I was actually on the second cruise after the first ever cruise from NYC to bermuda a couple years ago.

Yes that is the one, the one thing I really liked was their casino stayed open 24 hours, at least the VP and slots were. So I had the whole place to myself in the early mornings. For non cruise VMBer's I think they will be shocked at the paytable's that will be displayed for VP and even Blackjack, which rarely has a shoe and most are those continuous shuffle machines, but I have actually done reasonably well on ship casinos so I cannot complain too much.

It was a very nice ship. On the right side of the staircase in the casino (if you came in from where that big bar was on the ship) that takes you down to where some of the restaurants are, there were $50 tables that had shoe games and the high limit was tucked in the corner behind them.

You should do the Bermuda trip on that ship, Bermuda is very nice. But it only goes from nyc to Bermuda and you are in Bermuda for 3 days I believe. Also wondering if you had the same entertainment director, she was a tall brunette. She did a great job during the cruise.

I know exactly where you are describing, and the High Limit had the Baccarat tables if I remember. Yes, we will be doing Bermuda as it is my absolute favorite vacation spot. We are actually taking Celebrity Summit this labor day to Bermuda. Cruising is what cuts into my Vegas funds LOL.

    Do you take many cruises?

Yes, i think it had 2 bacc tables and 3 bj tables and a tv with a seating area with 2 chairs with a phone in the left corner when you walked in the room.

Dont really cruise too much but I love it and that cruise is always in my mind because it was real fun trip.

Quantum is an incredible ship. You will have a great time I am sure. I wish you the best in trying to do a live report from a cruise ship. Those internet charges are outrageous. We just got back from a cruise on the Carnival Dream. We spent about every living moment in the casino and had great casino porn...but no one to report too. I am looking forward to your report!

Also, I am sure you probably know to make friends with the casino host right away, ask for a free drink card, and make sure you get rated properly. Our cruise on the dream was free for 2. On the last night of this cruise, they gave us a free cruise for up to 15 days for 4! So, now it is Alaska in 2 months :)

Looking at your pictures again, Im almost 100% sure that is the cove tower on the right side of your first picture at the Atlantis.

Thats what I'm talking about 2VegasNuts! Free cruise to Alaska, that is sweet! I am sure you will have an excellent time, I know that trip is on my bucket list. I hear ya about the internet onboard, but I do get one of the large packages as I have three work items to handle during the week, so I am hopeful to have enough minutes to upload some pics and details at least a couple time a day and one full day is in port canaveral so I have cell service there.

We do have a host contact, but I am not familiar with them as this is our first trip on quantum and I have some cash waiting for me, at least I hope since I emailed them right after booking last week, so hopefully they complete it as they said. Royal has just raised their drink prices to about $12-$15 from what I am reading on various boards, so if so I will be in the casino a lot more to get my drink on. Also if true we may be leaving them from now on as NCL has a nice casino program also that has taken care of us.

Thanks for checking in and hope I can post some fun pics over the next week!

Yep I believe the royal towers have the bridge and I think your right that other one is the cove, which is really nice. We had just gotten back onboard from visiting Atlantis that morning, craps took a crap on me if I remember and for the past few years we have been on a cruise that week and there is alway a big college BB tourney that week in Nassau, and I saw Wisconsin players that I remember and a few others that morning walking around.

I also think another nice resort just opened in Nassau recently that is supposed to compete with Atlantis, I did not look at excursions for the bahamas as we usually end up at Atlantis, so I will have to check and maybe hit that up for the day to check it out.

FYI on Atlantis-they stopped selling day passes on 3/1. So, if you have kids that want to go to aquadventure, you might need to purchase the shore excursion from the ship. Buying a room at Comfort suites used to be another option, not sure if that still works. Obviously, the lobby and casino are open to accept your gambling dollar without a pass.

Baha Mar is the new resort. We are headed there in July....hope it is done.

Since I actually know how to post pics because of you, i will post some. The pictures we took were from our room at the cove overlooking where the cruise ships dock. Yes, the royal tower has a bridge across the top which is a huge suite. I will be back at the atlantis for memorial day weekend.

The new resort is called Baha Mar but I think they are a little behind from the opening date.

Hope I post the picture correctly in a minute (you have me trigger happy towards pics) lol. Enjoy your cruise tbone!

My apologies, did not mean to post that picture. Still trying to learn tapatalk, if you choose a picture by mistake, it still apparently posts since I cannot find a way to take it out. But that actually was in the bahamas lol. Sorry again.

Thank You, I did not know that they stopped selling them. I will have to get an excursion then, or ride to Baha Mar to check it out.

I'm sure you will enjoy your trip! Thanks again for the heads up!
