Last October I was received the following email from the DTG.

"As I assume my new role in becoming Director of Player Development for the Downtown Grand I’d love for the opportunity to re-introduce you to the property as my personal guest!
I look forward to speaking with you in creating your Grand Experience!"

So I contacted this person back explaining I had WANTED to come out in Oct but could not due to a death in the family, but I would most likely be out in February. I was told to just email this person back when I was coming out and something could be set up. Come December, I email back plans for a February trip. I actually emailed about 4 times with NO response. So I figure, since I had read about some management shake up at the DTG, maybe this person was replaced. So, after googling a bit I came up with the name of another person to contact. Contacted the DTG through facebook and received the new persons email address, and also found out that the person that initially contacted me, still worked there and was in the same position. So, feeling a little irked, I emailed the new person that was the HEAD of player development, TWICE, with a copy of the original email, asking if anything could be done for my February trip. SURPRISE! No response! Sooo, just like so many other threads have pointed out, I actually did NOT receive my February offers until, February 1st! (Glad I usually always go at the end of the month). Had a fun time on my February trip and have that itch to go back! I have vacation in June, July, and August, but yet, it doesn't seem a Vegas trip will actually come to fruition until October. Fast forward to last week, and lo and behold I receive yet ANOTHER email from yet ANOTHER person stating they are in player development. This was in response to the voice mail he had left me telling me about a mailer I would be receiving vial snail mail. Email also stated to send him a reply with any questions or if there anything he could do for any upcoming visit. So, after waiting a few days, I finally emailed back trying to politely explain about the other people that I had contacted me but yet really never responded. I also was asking what his purpose in the DTG contacting me was about, what were they hoping to accomplish. You contact me, ask me to respond, I do, and then I'm ignored. This email was sent over the last weekend and holy shit I received and reply! Altho it was an automated response stating that this person was out of the office until Tuesday, It's now Friday, and yet, no response from their player development people.

Do they do this just so it looks like they're "working" and can be justified in keeping their position? Anybody else having these issues there? I like the DTG and the staff that's on hand when I'm there on my trips (Hell even the front desk emails back when you email questions in about your visit). But this "Player Development" just seems to be some sort of joke!

I thought at first that since I received an email from them stating they DOUBLED my offer, that perhaps the player development person had something to do with it, but alas, other people on the board also received a "doubled" email.

Sorry to rant so long. This just leaves me with a big WTF?!

I'd say they're pretty f'd up, I wouldn't take it personally, no doubt they're dissing all kinds of people.

Next time in town get a person's cell phone number and use it. I have great luck when using the cell number of a host.
To be honest I usually never need a host as the mailers are more offers than I can use. last time in town I decided I wanted a saturday night
room and left a message on the host cell phone on friday night. Saturday morning I was all set up. No complaints here.

But they definately are having growing pains and unless the 6/5 games change they will soon loose me as a customer.
I will take the free room offers till they dry up, as the gambling will go elsewhere

To put it nicely they are very inconsistent! Which is not the way to built a customer base.

Comment is spot on. I think they're like the plaza, the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing...

Well, the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing.
It is the brain which knows what the right and left hands are doing and coordinates them.
The problem with DTG is that it doesn't appear to have a brain at all.

    haha!

Apparently I'm on my 3rd host since inception. I just tried to make contact with my 'last known host' to no avail. decided to book a couple of nights for my upcoming trip for the FP.

Since I have not yet stayed there, but played there in March, today I tried to call a casino host about staying there in June. No one answered the casino host line and the call went to voice mail. Problem was, the mail box was full. I can't think that is a good sign when your entire job is customer service

I had to call the reservations line because I couldn't reach a host. just booked a couple of nights next week. They had my address wrong in the system and I asked her to update it. She said I would need to talk with player services. not impressed.
but, I'll book a room for a little free play.

Automated emails, sent out in mass.
    Don't feel bad.

Surprisingly from the last attempt at mailing the last person I did get the automated reply stating they were out of the office. Hmm, that was over a week ago. Maybe it's time to follow up :D

I posted about my experience with the DTG last June. Like you, I was also dismissed by the host, only in my case, it was to my face. I see you have been advised to call a lot. IMO, I will not pursue a business in an effort to give them my money. After my last trip to Red Rock, where I was treated so well, the DTG can suck it.

I'm kinda thinking the same thing, why do I need to chase YOU to give you my money. I was just assigned a host at Red Rock as that's my favorite place to stay. But I also like having options and it's probably time to try out the Nugget :D
