Couple of weeks ago was checking up on my MLife account online, and on a whim decided to book the Monte Carlo for my birthday in June. Found reasonable airfare on Evil Spirit and wham, the trip is planned.

That is, until I really got to thinking about it. I was just at MC in mid-March, and while I really enjoyed it, I enjoyed the first-night stay at the DTG better. That's when I found an email offer for 1 free night at the D. Reviews were mixed onthe rooms, but I really dig their casino. So cancelled MC and booked the D.

Then doubt settles in. Slow elevators, crappy pool (and pools are important to GF, if she ends up going). So yesterday, found a 20% off coupon on my next stay at DTG, and finally decided that I'm probably going to be much happier at DTG. I'm familiar with their rooms and casino , and like the proximity to Fremont without being right on it.

So, booked and stoked! June 15-18, possible solo trip, and will probably not even go near the strip! Budgeting about 1k per day on craps, VP and maybe some BJ.

Sounds like you have a plan. I have only spent one night downtown and loved it and have one night planned on my next trip. I am mixed if I want to try to make it my home in the future trips but I do enjoy it. My only experience downtown is staying in GN.

Thanks! Turns out I might actually venture down to the strip to catch K'a. Other than that, keeping my money downtown where the decent play is.

If you've stayed and/or played at DTG before, chances are you'll get offers for at least a few free nights during the timeframe of your trip. People have been getting offers of 2-3 free nights for April-May in the past few weeks.

Thanks, definitely hope for that. I generally don't play for comps, but will be focusing a good deal of play here... especially with $3 Craps and BJ from 3am-11am. Prime gambling time!

nice to see this thread. I just gambled there for first time last weekend, and got this sweet hoodie for just 1000 points for new members. Nice quality. I am booked for one night May 31st via an Allegiant Air package which I got for insane price of $100 RT from Grand Junction, CO to Vegas plus the one night at DG. Looking forward to it and if you want, will share details on room after I get there.

The DTG is my new favorite casino to gamble in downtown. Excellent service and less hectic than the rest of the places/

I'm surprised....thought everyone here hated this place for gambling when it first opened
    What do you play?

It has changed since it opened. First, they changed their craps odds from 3-4-5X to 10X. they still have a 6-5 BJ game but have at least one 2 deck 3-2 game. And the William Hill sportsboook isn't bad.

Are there any 3:2 tables there anymore? My last stay there was Superbowl of 2014, and it was all 3:2 back then, but it's been over a year since I've been there.

There were 3-2 tables when I was there a month ago. I think I only saw one 6-5 table

Will be interesting to experience this for myself. I haven't gambled there, and I haven't stayed there, but I'll be doing some of both next month. In approximately 18 months it seems DG was at one point an exciting option, a major disappointment, a struggling failure, a hungry property and a so-so proposition, not necessarily in that order.

I'm looking forward to 3 nights at DTG starting a week from Monday. I'll post my thoughts after the trip.
