    My Trip Report

Our trip started on Tuesday with a nonstop flight out of BWI.

    20150407_172459.jpg

Our plane departed at 5:20 our time and arrived at 8pm Vegas time. We collected our luggage and cabbed it down to Caesar's. At check in I got a really nice lady and offered the $20 sandwich asking "I was wondering if you have any complimentary upgrades? Specifically the Augustus Tower with a Bellagio Fountain view" She told me to hold on to my $20 and if she earned it and I felt she deserved it I could give it to her at the end of the encounter. She went into her computer and tapped away for a few minutes. She said I do have something in the Augustus Tower but it's a smoking room (We opted non smoking) and it's 2 Queen Beds (we had chosen 1 King). I asked her how bad it smelled of smoke and she said she went in that tower earlier and couldn't smell anything but if we got up there and didn't like it we could ask for an "Odor Service" or something like that. Or we could go to a different room. She also offered us the Octavius Tower but said when she was in that tower earlier she almost got a contact high...:ssst:

We accepted the Augustus Tower and went up to our room. It wasn't very high up... approximately 3 floors high and our room was right around the corner from the elevators....very convenient! And no smell! We were very happy! We dropped our luggage and went for a late dinner at Gordon Ramseys Pub and Grill.

We had no wait to be seated but the staff made up for that with the service. It took us over 30 minutes to receive our burgers. The waitress told us "Well Done" Burgers take longer. Hubby goes "I've seen the show....it takes 4"...:Þ

It was a long wait but the burger was fantastic!

After this I played through my first $100 with no wins and we went off to bed.

Edited to add: The check in lady did receive her $20 bill.

Wednesday we were awake early because we are 3 hours ahead on the East Coast and 8 A.M was 11 our time. Our room:

    20150408_120706.jpg

Since we were up so early we decided to head down to the famous pawn shop seen on TV. It was a lot smaller than I anticipated.

    20150408_125133.jpg

No one famous but I did get one of the workers with his permission.
    20150408_125054.jpg

I also bought a really cute bracelet for $9. Got a neat little black bag to put it in that had the store logo on it.
We then caught a cab and had him drive us to Ricks Restoration. Now this cab driver pissed me off. All he talked about was how he hated Vegas and couldn't wait to get out of the city and go to Florida. I don't want to hear that on my vacation. I'm talking about how I love Vegas and he says he'll drive me a block down the street and I'd change my tune. He offered to wait for us and Ricks' but I said NO THANK YOU!! He did not get a good tip.

Ricks Restoration had one person working the gift shop area and there is a small room with projects you can buy that have been or could be restored. Lots of Coca cola products. I did buy a Diet Coke in an old time bottle but that was it. We then caught another cab to the Forum shops at Caesar's. We had scheduled a Scoot city tour and pick up was there at 12:30. We arrived at the Forum shops with an hour or two to spare so we walked around window shopping. Next we went up to Planet Hollywood restaurant to eat. I have to tell you the spiral escalator blew my mind. Couldn't figure that one out. My husband is an architect and said you can make escalators do a lot of different things if you have the money. A (sorry) but blond girl was on the escalator in front of us and yelled down to her family "Look I'm on an elevator". I looked at hubby and said "See it could be worse"....

In Planet Hollywood the service sucked. We were seated right away but the hostess tried to put us at a dirty table...ie: Used coffee cup. I pointed out that I think that one had been used and she apologized and said it was her first day. No problem. Our server was very slow and missed the cup trying to pour my husband a coffee. At this point I know things aren't going to get better and we should probably leave but there was no where else to eat near there or that early.

I ordered the French Toast and asked for Bacon and Breakfast potatoes and she tells me they are out. I reiterated "You don't have bacon?" "No". "You don't have potatoes?" "No". Okay I really did hear correctly.
    20150408_141639.jpg

Hubby got a breakfast sandwich with french fries.
    20150408_141627.jpg

My sausage was super spicy and I asked for it to be taken off the bill which they did accommodate. Another couple came in while we were eating and sat behind us and the guy ordered Bacon and potatoes and she told him they were out and he goes "So you don't have breakfast?" She said "We do...just not bacon and potatoes" And he replies "So you don't have breakfast?" It was very comical and he and his misses ended up leaving with out eating.

I also had a coupon with me and the whole time it was sitting on the table right in front of her face. She brought me the bill before asking if we wanted anything else and then I said "Did you get the coupon?" pointing to it. She said "You should have given that to me at the beginning"....I'm sorry I thought it being smack dab on the table would have been a hint. So feeling scolded and frustrated I went to get out of the booth. Have you ever been there? The seats are like lawn chairs with cushions on them. I managed to fall out of the chair and pushing one of the cushions onto the floor with me. (Remember in a previous report I said I was really clumsy?) Hubby helps me up and goes "Really??" I was laughing to hard to help put the chair back together. I think the restaurant was glad we left.

We met the Scoot city tour bus by the planet Hollywood sign outside the forum shops. The drive to the Scooters was about 20 minutes and we picked up at 2 other hotels on the way. The people were really nice. One couple from Australia and 3 couples vacationing together from Wisconsin. Now for a bunch of photos. Hubby is the photographer usually so he had me drive. I was terrified, but eventually got the hang of it.

The tour was really nice. And it was fun to drive the scooters. I would recommend long sleeves because the wind does feel chilly. We did have a blanket that was offered and the guides gave plenty of water and lots of support. We did have one numbskull that wanted to see how fast his scooter could go and went zooming down a hill passing the rest of the line. He's at the rest stop going "I think I got it to 70!" First off they are not designed to go that fast. Second he could have ran into any one of us and 3rd, our speedometer didn't even work..how did he know how fast he was going?

I'll finish tomorrow. It's late here and I have to work in the morning. You'll have to wait to hear about my big win!

I really enjoyed the Scoot City pics. We've got that booked for next Friday morning while we're there. Did the guides oblige with taking photos like their website states? Also, about what time did you return from the tour? This sounds like a lot of fun. We've never ventured out beyond the strip on previous trips to Vegas.

The guides were great with photos! And so reassuring! The tour was picked up at 12:30 and we were back to the hotel by 5:30 I believe? I could be a little off on the time but I had time to play at the Casino for 1 hour then shower and then make an 8 pm dinner reservation.

Never heard of Scoot City! The pictures on their website of the Strip tour look terrifying! Nice report so far.

Yeah, I don't particularly like to drive a vehicle with four wheels on the Strip, much less one so close to the ground with three wheels! Some people might call it terrifying while others call it exciting. I, for one, will not try it, so I won't be able to giv emy assessment.

I guess I am confused here. She said she asked for it well done and it was excellent. She got exactly what she asked for and said it was good, whats the problem?

After the scooter tour we were taken back to Caesars and walked into the Palace Casino where I proceeded to lose another $100. Then it was back to the room for nookie and a shower and then we dressed up and walked over to Prime at Bellagio. We were seated on the Terrace and the service was impeccable, the view awesome and food beyond amazing. Our bill was equally as insane.
    2 Caesar Salads $36
    1 Porterhouse $70
    1 Surf & Turf $129
    1 Asparagus $14
    1 Baked Potato $13
    4 Sodas $20
1 Liter of Fiji water $9.5
2 Scoops Chocolate Ice cream $8
Total plus tip 383.76 (But the food was DAMN good)

We played a bit in Bellagio after getting my Mlife card reprinted and having our Prime bill added to my card. No wins and back to Caesars for bed.

Thursday we again woke up too early and headed to Excalibur. We had a zip lining tour scheduled and pick up wasn't until 12 something so we had breakfast at Krispy Kreme. I love that place. I sat down at Gold Fish 2 and proceeded to spin. I worked nervousness up to $2 per spin and got a bonus with the kissy fish. Then while kissy fish was up to 6X pay I hit free spins and this happened.

No, I appreciate the honesty and guts to post that. Don't apologize. Let's face it, Vegas does inspire the romantic side of people. I plan on some "nooky and shower " action myself next week when we are there.
