I was there for the NCAA final four and the final and the shops were not busy. Most of the shops were about 10x12 foot or12x15 foot stores. Very small. They were not busy at all.
I could have walked through the Forum or the Miracle Mile and they would be busy. Not the Grand Bazaar Shops. Almost NO food eateries. Did the Whalburg bros and others give up?
They should have been open by now. Problems? It seems that Caesars gets rid of there eateries and adds ones that one can not use RCs at. I wish this venue would make a go at it. What I saw was very small stalls that charge high prices. I hope they make it.

I've been through the Grand Bazaar Shops during the week and on weekends. And, I agree business traffic has not been heavy. During the week it was light and on weekends it was moderate. But, the way I figure it, the shops don't have to have the business of the Forum Shops or Miracle Mile Shops because they don't have the high overhead. In other words, they don't have to do the business volume of much of their competition to survive.

The real test will be to observe how many of the new shops close within the first year. If it's a low closure rate (like we've seen with Container Park) it'll speak volumes.

I don't find the Grand Bazaar Shops of interest at all, so I've only walked by them as opposed to checking them out. But as someone mentioned, their overhead is likely considerably lower than other shopping complexes on the strip. I have zero interest to stop at the shops or even make the long walk into Bally's anymore. My guess, and it's only a guess, is that Bally's is going to be the bottom of the CET food chain soon enough. Flamingo has at least made some changes to their carpet and casino layout and it is sooooo much easier to get too. I hope these shops work out and prove me wrong, but I do have my doubts. I will say, yesterday as I walked by the Tix4Tonight shop which on the end and easily accessible had a very good line.

I'm not a big shopper, but we were there when they opened and it was pretty quiet. Lots of people milling around, not a lot of "shoppers" though. I did buy a pair of sunglasses, as some drunk girl lost hers the previous night ;)

I haven't been to container park (taxi driver hadn't heard of it....Um...ok...), but it sounds like it has a lot of artisan/crafter/whatever term you want to use shops - I think that's what it's striving to be (especially with the term bazaar), but it wasn't there, too many retail like outlets IMO.

I'm sure I'll walk through there again in a few weeks (it's basically on the way to everywhere, right? Haha), I would hope/expect more stores to be open. ...

I would say it's more "out of your way" unless you want to go to Bally's or Ellis Island. This is another reason why I don't think it will do very well.

I wonder if the shops still play "Viva Las Vegas" at 4am loud enough to hear from the Jubilee tower ten stories up. Assholes.

True, and I should have said many may pass right by (not through), but since you can see it and not have to really go inside it might pick up some passerby traffic. Im sure there is a lot of foot traffic on that corner. We tend to pass by that area several times each visit.

We were just there Saturday night and it was dead. Even with all the NAB people in town it was dead.
I didn't care for it at all, just more shops they don't need and yes all very small. I really didn't find anything about it appealing. Will not be back unless Wahlburgers opens.

All these shopping areas remind me of this intersection of highways just North of Florida in Alabama. The fruit stands were 5 deep along every direction, about 40+. I was wondering how anyone of them could make enough to stary open. I'm sure if there was one or two in each direction , they may have had a chance, but 40+. How many more gift shops, or drug stores does the strip need?

visited about 3 weeks ago. went during the afternoon. half the stores were either closed or with "coming soon" signs. i did see a guy walking around with a wahlburgers cap and shirt on just walking around the shops (i dont really know the other wahlburger brother so it may or may not have been him). i looked at all the shops but didn't find theirs though. not even a sign.

I walked through them Final Four weekend also. It was slow. The girls looked through some stores. Not a lot of people buying, although a may not be a good resource for that comment since I didn't walk in one store. I think the stores which are not on the main path to Ballys will have a really hard time, as through traffic will not see them.

I passed through this past early March. The lay-out is stupid. Regimented rows of "boxes" lined up in Military fashion, instead of allowing a meandering traffic flow. Again, very stupid imho.

I agree...I'll never step foot in them unless the wife drags me there. Even with Wahlburgers, which I'd have some interest in, I've heard just "meh" reviews of it. I'd most likely hop in the car and go to In And Out Burger instead if I got the itch for a burger.

I was hoping Wahlburgers would be open for our May trip....probably the only draw to the shops for me.
