I read that he'd been stalking a hostess. Pulled into the parking garage, lit his car on fire then went inside and popped himself.

All kinds of kids around him. Sad times.

Oh sure it is... I'm tired of being sad over shit like this. I feel awful for the people that were there for a nice Easter Brunch buffet and the poor staff that had to witness such a selfish occurrence. I feel awful for the people who loved this man, but I'm tired of feeling sad for people who've decided to involve others in ending their own lives.

I think humor is one way for normal and sane individuals to somehow make some sense of the crazy, stupid shit that goes on in today's world... but for sure it's not for everyone and we all have or should have our own coping mechanisms.

That is sad. Must be so horrific for the people and children who were witness to it!

    Dude ...

A little gallows humor doesn't even register given the shit through which this person put so many. Yes, it is sad that people cork and think going out is some kind of answer. Involving others -- whether you cap some on the way or simply choose to make them witness -- removes a good measure of the pathos.

Very disappointed that you don't think I qualify as "normal and sane", but as regular at the M, I was particularly shocked by this.
My concern was for the guests and staff that were on the scene.

This is also the last thing this property needed. On my last two stays, there's been a kind of ghost town* feel to the place and I hope it can survive.

*Not intended as gallows humour. Funnier than yours if it had been, though;-)

He posted a manifesto on facebook about a year ago. Interesting read but I won't link to it. It's not posted under his name either. Looks like he used another name although he mentions himself in it.

Can you imagine the anger of people who were asked to leave for the clean up. I bet it was like the scene in Waiting. I want another free buffet and and some free play right now!
