At the Cosmo this weekend and had an interesting discussion with my host last night about what changes are coming with new ownership taking over and the announcement of the new boss. She said everything they have been told, the property is going to focus on gamblers more than in the past. That makes sense, especially since the new boss comes from a gambling background and not a finance background. She said they are planning to take the slots out of the first floor high limit room and add more baccarat and blackjack tables in their places. She also said they are going to build a new, separate high limit slots area. They are also going to finish building out the top four floors. I had no idea those floors were unfinished, lol. They are also planning to build a high end Asian restaurant.

She asked what changes I would want to see as a gambler and I told her that Cosmo really needs its own car service if they are trying to attract high rollers (right now, its outsourced and not very consistent). She agreed and indicated that the marketing people have begged that in the past, but to no avail. She doubts that will change soon, but she said they are aware of that issue.

    Thanks for the update.
I always thought it was weird that they had 2 high-roller areas, the Talon room on the second floor and the High-Limit room on the first floor.
They should close the Talon room, and expand the High-Limit Room, so that all of the gambling is consolidated on the same level.
I agree they should have their own fleet for car/limo service.

They should sponsor a Craps tournament!

Thanks for sharing, UK! It was a difficult choice for me to gradually shift my play from Cosmo, as I really liked the property. I am looking forward to the changes and hope to be a frequent gambler there again!

Dang. My gold status is mainly from nice rooms and expensive dinners. Though I gamble quite a bit, I may have to up it to keep the comps flowing.

they need to come up with a decent platinum players lounge as priority number 1.

Taking out machines and adding BJ tables? Aren't machines wwaaaaayyyyyy more profitable than BJ tables?

The host said they are going to build a new high limit slot area. And it sounds like they are going to try and make a play for more Asian high rollers. From personal observation, it seems they are more interested in tables than slots

Compared to other HL rooms on the strip, traffic on Cosmo's HL slots is way less. Usually, when breeze through there, I only see one or two people playing slots. Sometimes I am the only one taking a shot on their slots. One reason for lack of players could be the lack of game selection. I think they only have one $100 machine and just a few $25 machines...rest are $5 and $10.

Agreed. I never see more than one or two slot players in their high limit room. Of course, I never see the tables area packed either, but there are usually a few more people playing BJ and Bac than slots in there

I never stay there or eat there. But if they keep the dancers and good music going at the BJ tables then ill keep throwing a few thousand every time i walk by!

    On the car service note...

Last trip we changed from Cosmo to Aria. I let Cosmo know a few weeks ahead to cancel the limo I had set up. Got the email back saying she got it nixed, etc. showed up at the airport to the Aria Sky Suites driver and the Cosmo guy standing together trying to figure out wtf was going on. It was a little awkward telling the Cosmo guy to bounce.

Cosmo does not have its own fleet. They outsource it and they are not reliable. I have had problems with that service in the past

That sucks! Fingers crossed our first experience with it goes well. First time w/ Caesar's ended up in a 30 minute wait, oops - and they are the reliable ones, ha : )

Hmm.. anyone notice this under Gold?

2-for-1 dining and priority access at Wicked Spoon per day.

Does this mean you get 2 for 1 access daily and not once a month? That's a change, right?

Also, has anyone had experience with the comps they provide now from table games?

That isn't a change. You still have to go to the desk daily though. I wish they would just allow you to show the card at the buffet.
