Has anyone been or have any comments suggestions on it? I'm looking to play at Wynncore or nearby casinos at least in once or twice depending on my luck during my next trip. I've never personally played in a big casino before so there are several things I'm wondering about. The last time I played in a casino was at T.I. in a tournament $50 buy-in. While I lasted a while I don't recall how much/long people were still in it... but anyways my questions are:

    a) How much does it cost to play on a table? I'm not familiar with the terminology, but is there a minimum buy in, big/small blinds, antes (which I've only seen in tournaments), high/low roller? How does it generally work? If I see a open seat do I just sit down and hand cash to the dealer like any other table games?

    b) How long are generally each tournaments if I do decide to play tournaments? And how much are these tournaments buy-ins? In addition, do they have re-buy ins if you're eliminated? I'm actually looking to play tournaments because I have the patience to play long and not call everything as oppose to say going all in on a table on a normal game... problem being which is I'm going with my girlfriend so I'll have to find time to play without her being bored. When's the earliest poker tournament begins and whens the latest? (estimation is probably best here since it might vary)

    c) If Wynncore is too rich for my blood, where is the next step down closest to the hotel? I was thinking of spending couple hundred, not thousands on poker... so maybe Wynncore is too rich.

I'm pretty confident in my poker knowledge, percantage of a possible winning hand, when to chase, when not to chase, and bluffing, and after a while developing a read on a person. Of course it all comes down to dumb luck but I would like to test my knowledge in a casino.

    Best,

I'm on my phone so not the best place for looking up links, but I'll come back later if no one has posted. Tournaments can vary, depends how big they are, but if you stay in, it's going to be at minimum 2 hours most likely. Knowing the girlfriend thing, send her to the pool and hit early in the day ones. There is a site that lists all of them, just can't remember exactly what it is offhand.

I'd say you can probably find one for a $50 buyin (but probably not at wynn), some have rebuys (until a certain time) some don't.

At all you check in as you enter the poker room area, I think most (all?) expect you to come with chips.

I haven't played the last few times in vegas, but next time a friend is going that likes to play, so we'll probably hit a tourney or two.

This is hard on my phone, sorry if it's a mess!

All the poker rooms have daily tourneys. Lower to mid end are generally $50-$100 higher end properties are like $100-$200 buyin. On the weekends they have higher buy ins, I think win has a $500 or $1k buy in, venetian has like a $300.

Generally I'm guess you play no limit hold em. The standard cash games are $1/2 or 1/3 and $2/5 (small/big blind). $1/2 and $1/3 generally has a $100-200 min-max buy in, or sometimes $100-300. $2/5 is generally $200-500 or $200-1000. You will also find $5/10 and $10/20 no limit games, sometimes at venetian or Wynn but more commonly at bellagio and and sometimes aria.

Generally you walk into the room, you'll see a desk. Sometimes it's at the front other times it near the back. Tell them what game you wanna play, they'll point you to the table if there's an open seat or they will ask for you name to out you on the wait list. When your on the list you'll see ur name pop up tb screens around the room. They'll call your name once seat opens and you'll go to the table.

This is where some rooms are different. The desk will either to tell you to buy chips at the cage or send you to the table to buy chips. Once at the table a chip runner will take ur cash and bring u chips. Generally tip the runner $1-2. And ur off

At Wynn the minimum cash game is 1/3 NL. You go to the desk at the entrance to the poker room and ask to be put on a list and then they call you when the seat is open. They have TVs that display the games and who is on the list so you can tell how many people are ahead of you. You don't have to give your real name, a nickname is fine. The minimum buy in is $100. They have chip runners.

I played at Wynn when limit was big and the room is beautiful. The cocktail waitresses are beautiful.

Download bravo poker app. Gives information specific to each poker room, games currently being played in each room, and wait lists. Also lists tournament prices and schedule for each poker room.

If you're at the Wynn and don't like it, go over the the Venetian. The Wynn has it's fans, but Venetian will have a great selection of games at all limits.
