I'm thinking of giving this a go.

    Anyone tried it?

Yes, I really have nothing better to do. That's my job. I get paid to do nothing.

It's supposed to improve mental acuity. Like exercising helps the body. I am positive that playing games helps mental alertness.

I agree. And, if you can be entertained doing it, it's all good.

Don't waste your time or your money on this. There's zero peer-reviewed research behind "neuroplasticity"or whatever they want to call it. The reason you seem to be getting smarter, quicker or improving is the same reason that you seem to get better at anything. Practice. Repeatedly playing the "brain games" makes you better just like repeatedly playing Call of Duty makes you better, even if you still get killed by fourteen year olds.

Same category as those little gimmick games for the Nintendo DS. They're fun, but don't expect any long-term results. Like I said, there's zero science behind these products.

Buy a Rosetta Stone program instead and learn a new language, great way to exercise your brain.

Duolingo is a great app for learning a new language, especially if you already know a little bit. Even if it was 20 years ago you'll start to remember that high school French!

My husband plays this all the time, and even my kids are into it. Regardless if it's actually improving anything, they are enjoying it....give it a go if you are curious about it!
