The casino is ok, slots are brand new and nice. The whole place is rather small for my liking. Their players club offers a free spin promotion where likely you will get $5 free after spinning trough 20 bucks or so. However, the buffet was AWESOME, easily top 3 of Vegas for me.
I went up there in December after breakfast at the Peppermill. The casino was empty, I was one of nine players there at 10 am on a Saturday. I blew through $300 before I found a $5 Top Dollar slot that paid and I left up $900. The place was spotless, all the staff was greeted me warmly and every dealer was smiling, the air quality very high. The coffee shop charged me $4 for a decent cup of black coffee but they had to brew an entirely new pot so the place was run by amateurs that day. SLS just doesn't seem the place for me so I didn't sign up for their card and have no plans on returning. If you already have plans to buy a monorail pass certainly head up there and check it out. But I wouldn't buy one just for that purpose.
SLS is worth seeing. The bars and restaurants are excellent. The remake of the pool area is remarkable. And, the technology and design on display generate a good vibe. It's quiet during the week but seems to come alive weekend nights. I've found the staff to be very helpful in obtaining discounts with the Code Card (for locals/seasonal residents). Bill
I won $125 with my free spin. It was sort of a shock.Turned it into $140 real take home money. Cool. It is a nice place. It is just going to struggle with that location. It is more of a destination place to me, like the M Resort, because it's so removed from everything.
The buffet is closed, but I love the place. The game limits are low and the rules are fair. The restaurants are great. It is a short walk from the monorail station. The clubs are fun. The only thing the place needs is more customers.
Free spin and an awesome buffet!? Sounds like it would be worth the trip to me. I'm going to have a car so I will put it on my to do list for April.
seeking club atmosphere on the weekend, this place might entice you. otherwise don't waste your time.
It's definitely worth at least a walk through, just to see how you like it, and if you already have a monorail ticket. I visited on my last trip in December. Obviously everything is brand new and current, though it's a small gaming floor and awfully dead most times...but you could claim that at almost any casino on a weekday afternoon in early December. I'm at the MGM for one night this trip, and have a few MyVegas monorail comps, so I'll check back and look for a decent blackjack table. By all accounts, heavy discounts and comps are easy to come by for not much play.
Umami Burger is worth a trip, that's about it sadly. They do have double deck h17 blackjack if I remember.
If you like the kiddie type nightclub atmosphere then you will fit in with this place. If you are one of the older crowd then you might not like the place, especially on weekends when the night club crowd saunters into town. I visited the place at the beginning of the month, saw the place, walked around the place. I doubt I would be back again. Yes, the place was nicely done but IMHO they created the place with more the "kiddies" in mind.
I visited in September last year. I really liked the casino, was fairly busy but not crazy. The layout was done well. I am going to Peppermill in April and will definitely check it out again.
Thanks all. I was wanting to take a (myvegas comp) trip on the monorail and SLS seems like a good excuse.
I stopped by and walked around on 2 occasions. I thought it was too dark for my liking and to be blunt the bathrooms were less than stellar for a new property. If I wanted to try Umami burger I would go back, but there's so many other burger places on the strip that I could go to without dealing with the nomad's land between Wynn and SLS.
