What things are you less likely/able to do/experience because you've gone solo?

I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything. I would still see a show if there was something interesting on. I eat in the same restaurants whether I'm with friends or on my own. I'll still hit high end restaurants or try something new.

Coupons lol. I don't try to use 2-1 buffets, show tickets etc. Other than that, I think going solo is better because I do what I want, when I want to without having to worry about organizing with others.

For me, there is no feeling of being left out. I go solo to satisfy my gambling itch. It's basically all I do when solo. When I'm with my Wife we do all the other great things that can be done in Vegas, from shopping, dining, to entertainment.

My wife understands this which is why she lets me go solo; she doesn't gamble much and I feel bad when I want to gamble and she's waiting for me. Makes me and her both miserable.

I enjoy when we're together since we both get to do things together other than gambling. She's happy when I go solo since she doesn't have to be by herself while I gamble. Win Win for both of us this way!

I thought about the coupon thing when trying to use myVegas rewards. So many of the bigger food ones are based on 2 for 1. Also, some of the show tickets.

That being said, I also enjoy getting my gambling in solo. Back when I was mostly going solo and playing a lot of poker I would play all day and loved it! I'll go to most any restaurant if they have a good bar to eat at. Sometimes I'l feel a little out of place alone but that's my normal thing even at home. But I will go to a show if it's worth it, for instance I want to see Jeff Dunham on my next trip which is a solo trip.

I enjoy solo time. When I play poker, it's for 6-8 hours usually, so that doesn't really work unless your companion(s) also play. I love feeling like I can do anything I want on a solo trip. Being alone only bugs me a bit when I see couples embracing by the fountains, or when I'm going on tilt playing slots. I'm pretty cheap tho, so I can't lose too much without dialing back.

And yeah, the 2-1 coupons kinda suck. Has anyone tried just ordering two drinks at once with one of those? Hell I know I'm gonna have 2 anyway so ....

Stay sober and use good judgement. When the "little General" isn't there to monitor the alcoholic intake or comment on bad decision making, I am usually solo. But as those above have pointed out, when you need the itch scratched there are many things you gain by being solo as well. If only I could remember most of them the day after.

Yes, I did at Kahunaville in TI.

I always eat at the bar anyway. I've been going to sporting events and shows solo for years so that never bothers me. I talk to the voices so I always have good company. I'm pretty disciplined when it comes to gambling. I can make instant buddys with almost anyone.

Even though I chat with lots of people I meet in casinos, bartenders, etc...what I miss most on solo trips is the companionship. Someone to laugh with when you see something, something odd happens, etc. my husband is the perfect Vegas travelling companion but he's happy going once or twice a year. I have a couple girlfriends who are great Vegas Companions but they are once a year. I travelled with a friend several times who got more annoying with each trip....she's not a gambler, early to bed, won't do a damn thing without me escorting her including going for coffee at 6am when I just rolled into bed an hour or two before. I MUCH prefer travelling solo than the companionship of a friend who just doesn't do Vegas the way I enjoy.

I do like being able to keep weird hours, going wherever I want whenever. I don't even mind solo dining now that I have figured out which good places have counter seating or "comfy" solo seating. I have gone to several shows solo and have now learned to buy the cheapest ticket because every single time when solo, I have been moved upfront to the highest price seating area.

My last two trips were solo and the one before that I was still married and my wife and I went. When we went, as nice as it was spending time with her, it was also a drag. She was only 20 and so it was hard to do anything in a casino, can't say I did not gamble and she did not hang out with me but she never tried, she was to afraid she would win the big one. What was bad about it was she wanted to go to bed early, had to eat three meals a day, and all that.

Going solo, I enjoy just doing what I want, when I want, how I want and not having to worry about anyone else. I do miss out on the 2/1's but I found a way to work with those at times. If I see someone getting a drink and I have a coupon I ask them if they are paying, if they say yes, I tell them no worries, I got it and use the coupon, works quite well. I can talk to anyone anywhere so thats not an issue.

The one thing I do hate about the solo trip, when I do climb into bed, it would be nice to have a nice lovely lady next to me, but heck, Iv been single for 11 years and do not have that at home either so its no different

I love my solo trips. My husband is not a gambler so I am just as happy that he chooses not to go to Vegas :)

The one thing I miss when alone is having someone there that is genuinely happy for me when I win!

I choose my traveling companions wisely these days so I enjoy both solo trips and trips with friends. I include some solo time on most of my trips, now.

Every trip I've made to Vegas has been solo. I think most people making the decision to go alone are predisposed to enjoy themselves no matter what. Almost any vacation/travel I do is like that... always on your own schedule.

90%+ of my gambling time is poker. The interactions I have at a loose and relaxed table more than make up for any of the perceived drawbacks.

I love going solo. I'm not married and don't have a SO so I hardly go with someone else. I hated going in a group, too many "opinions" and we never can all agree on things like what time is dinner and where. It got to be a pain going with a group so I just go solo.

I agree, can't use the 2 for 1 coupons, wish they would have 1/2 price off instead, I would probably try those. If I were with a SO I would probably take her to shows and would probably stay at nicer places.

I don't feel left out at all, I can do whatever I want, whenever I want and don't have to worry about anyone else. If I wanted I can go to a nice restaurant or a show by myself but those things never interested me anyway.

I can't really say I do anything different. I don't like eating in restaurants alone, but it's not like even when my BF is along, that we do. Usually we do takeout from a deli or sandwich shop, or the buffet, that kind of thing. I've attended shows by myself. I love going with my BF on our spring trip, but also love my solo fall trip.

I don't have any set way or ways in how I vegas, so it really doesn't matter. I enjoy my many solo trips, I really enjoy when Terri is along, and we've had loads of fun up there with groups small or large. Golf often looms large but it's not an every-trip thing, spa at times. I don't need X hours in the casino and there are no exact patterns for food this or entertainment that. So it all works whatever the head count.

I am less likely to eat in a fancy restaurant alone. I only do casual restaurants when I am on my own.

I'm looking forward to myfirst solo trip.

Generally speaking, when we go with groups (even small ones) I feel like we waste an inordinate amount of time coordinating, herding cats, etc. Then there are the inevitable conversations about where to go and what to do. Even little things like transportation become a bit more complex when you have to take more than 1 cab, or the limo has room for almost everyone...

This time, I can do whatever I want. Rent a car for two hours to see the desert? Sure. Stay wherever I damn well please without annoying people looking for some luxury experience? No problem. Eat korean and In-N-Out for every meal? Sold.

I'm fairly social too, and love meeting and hanging out wih new people so I'm hella stoked about the whole thing. I have a certain bit of wanderlust and sometimes being with a bunch of people just slows me down.

Interesting thread. I am going on my first solo trip in April and it's pretty exciting. Should be a cool change from the norm!
