Did not think I was going to be able to make it to Vegas on Sunday June 7th and so I canceled my room at Four Queens. Work just called and approved that day after telling me they did not think it would be possible so I went ahead and re-booked it.

The debate, I canceled Four Queens and am debating on rebooking there, but in the mean time I have booked a Cabana at El Cortez. Thoughts?

I can't say where you should stay, but why not rebook 4Q anyway? As long as you can change or cancel without charge, you can decide later.

If you want to be closer to FSE then go fourQ.
if you want the better room, I think you have it with ElCo cabana suite.
*disclaimer - never stayed at ElCo, I just hear good things about them.

I have booked both Four Queens and El Cortez, both have free cancelation. I will just have to decide as I get closer to the day which I want to stay at. I like the look of the rooms at El Cortez and they have good reviews but location at Four Queens cannot be beat.

    The debate continues.

The Cabana suite at Elco are many times nicer and cleaner than the Four Queens, if you are in a JR Suite.

Cabana Junior Suites have a little more room than the Deluxe Suites, but neither is bigger than a standard downtown hotel room. On the plus side, beds are really comfy, bathrooms are roomy, there's a nice workout room, and Fremont noise won't bother you.

Currently its a standard room at Four Queens and a Jr Cabana Suite reserved at El Cortez. Im learning for ElCo right now. Its just for one night before I move to the strip.

Do any of the Cabana rooms have two beds? Going with a buddy and can`t tell from Tez website.

I can't comment on 4Q but the wife and I stayed in a Cabana Jr a few years ago and loved it. Our last couple of trips we have stayed in a Rush room at GN (loved those rooms as well) but for our upcoming trip in April we are going back to Cabana Jr. (it's less than 1/2 price of a Rush room and with our Cdn $ sucking ass right now, every dollar we can save helps). We didn't find the walk from ElCo to FSE that bad. Comfy beds, mini fridge, coffee maker, I would recommend Cabanas!

If you intend on roaming around doing a casino crawl on Freemont, 4Q would be better. If you are just going to hang around the ElCo, that's the better choice. But I don't think you can go wrong with either, it's a win/win.
