My wife and I have a trip coming up with two other couples. We are all in our early 40s. I'd like to create a list of nice casino bars and lounges. Nothing too "clubby". Just a nice place to sit down and have a good drink. A view would be ok too.

I've been to a few in the Cosmopolitan. I thought I heard of some in Mandarin Oriental and Vdara. We aren't really worried about the price but if there are drink specials that would be fine too.

I have not tried it personally but I have heard bar 3535 in the LINQ Casino drinks that are on par with COSMO or WYNN. I saw it on our last trip and its a really nice looking setup with nice people watching attributes.

Foundation Room is pretty cool and not clubby. Also Centrifuge and Whiskey Down are pretty cool. The piano bar at NYNY is fun, they sometimes have a cover though. If you want a more laid back place with a decent view the bar area at Ruth's Chris you can see out to the strip from the bar area.

Parasol Up/Parasol Down at the Wynn. Both bars are great for people watching and downstairs you can sit by the Lake of Dreams for a nice view and ambience.
They have a great pear-a-sol cocktail too. I love the white cosmos.

Table 10 at Palazzo has great drinks and a nice happy hour menu. Try the blood orange margarita if you're so inclined.

Absolutely echo Parasol Up/Parasol Down at the Wynn. Down, in particular, outside is one of my favorite places.

I used to love City Bar at Aria, which is the newly minted Alibi. I'm looking forward to checking that out because it doesn't seem too clubby.

Won't lie, I've always enjoyed Flight at Luxor. And have had good luck with the drinks at Eye Candy at Mandalay.

For my money, though, my favorites are probably anything at Aria and Bellagio.

Also looking forward to checking out the new Vice Versa at Vdara.

Ditto for Parasol Up/Down at Wynn, Eastside Lounge is another nice place at Encore, there are a couple of areas outside by the pool where you can have drinks. Mix lounge at MB, and the Petrossian Bar at Bellagio are a couple others. The Mandarin Bar at Mandarin Oriental has great views.

Alibi is great! Not clubby. Good drinks and the snacks ain't bad either. It definitely didn't hurt the Mrs., made friends with the hostess as well. ;)

Rhumbar at Mirage. Great drinks, good music at night, has TVs for sports, good people-watching!

Have to say, after going to Alibi a couple weeks ago -- I definitely recommend it. Great level of service at the tables. Drinks are typical Strip prices, but they're improved over City Bar. And the wine list is pretty solid by the glass. The space is fantastic -- opened up so the people-watching is really maximized. Great spot at Aria.

Mandarin Bar at the top of Mandarin Oriental...go before sunset, very cool.

Peppermill Fireside Lounge, I have yet to go here but I've heard it was very cool.

And if you really want to do something crazy, go to the Double Down Saloon and get some "ass juice".

Does anyone know if there is a speak easy type of
Bar with a secret entrance inside Mandalay Bay?
A few years back I heard people talk about heading to
    MB to seek that out.
Obviously, no idea if that was real or not.

The speakeasy was 1923 Bourbon and Burlesque, it wasn't inside Mandalay Bay, it was next to rm Seafood in the Mandalay Place shopping area between Mandalay Bay and Luxor. Bourbon and Burlesque was open for maybe a year, with Holly Madison performing for part of that time. Previously the space was occupied by Ivan Kane's Forty Deuce.

The ass juice is definitely better than the bacon martini.

How casual is Parasol Up/ Parasol Down in the evening?
I'm guessing casual dress is ok.
