When I was walking by the Megabucks earlier today, I saw that the jackpot was at just a few thousand over 10 million. My understanding was that 10 was the minimum for the jackpot. Did somebody win today?

Mystery solved. UCLAgirl just told me someone hit it at the Westgate for 10.7 million.

Sorta funny the security guy is in there that one pic. Must have been nice to them during that god awful jackpot verification. I think hits that big push 2 hours.

When my wife's grandfather hit the progressive on the WoF machine at a local indian casino, they had to fly a tech out from the manufacturer to verify that the machine was legit and wasn't a malfunction or any other issue. They flew the guy out on a PJ and he was there in about 4 hours then it took a few hours for the verification. They gave him a room in the meantime. I would imagine that there is someone there locally in Vegas to verify.

Well, that cuts into the house profits in the long run! Damn...

And yeah, I would HOPE Vegas would have some local people to do this.

You would still gamble after winning the Megabucks? I would feel like my "luck" has been all used up and would quit gambling.

I agree with pleepleus. Same reason I don't play the lottery. My numbers came up once back in 1996 no one won and my numbers would have won 9 million. I forgot to play that week. So I figured I let my ship sail.

I've said that if I did win a jackpot in the 8 figure range I would just give up gambling. I figured all my luck would be all used up. Time to hit the beach on and finally enjoy the water. I still have not hit the pool this year and only twice last year.

One of these days I'll be able to go on vacation and enjoy the waters.

I have read about lottery winners playing again and winning again so just because you win one big one doesn't mean that you have less of a chance to win again.

If I won 10 mil I would probably retire and go to vegas more often and probably gamble more and play on higher limit tables. I would probably stay at better hotels (meaning I would stay on the strip more) and would probably start playing on the $25 to $100 minimum tables. At least I won't have to stay and play on the "cheap" anymore.

I would also travel the world and visit places that were on my wish list.

If I'd won, Plee would have been there and he probably would have been shouting around the casino more than me lol.

If you were to hit it with Plee there, they may end up not paying you...when they review the tapes, they would have seen Plee punching, pounding, and cussing the machine, leading up to the jackpot. They would have said, "sorry miss, but this drunken monkey caused the machine to malfunction, so we cannot pay you...Have a nice day!"

When you say this, I envision that bonus round on Street Fighter where you beat up a car.
