On another thread I asked if anyone had a name and contact info of a host for the Cosmo that I could try.

Only one person gave me a name, all the rest that responded to the thread referred to their host with initials. Almost all threads I read talking about their host they use initials instead of their name.

Is it wrong to ask for hosts name? Did I overstep some host privacy boundary?

Confused about the privacy or secrecy of the host name game. Seeing some websites actually post names and pictures of their hosts.

Can anyone fill me in on whats so wrong with sharing hosts name and contact info? When other people ask me for my hosts name and contact info should I not be sharing that?

I give referrals to vetted players.

but I think it's just polite not to post names/numbers on a public forum

because most of the callers would be totally wasting his/her time.

There are some older threads on here with some animated discussion about sharing host info. I, for one, don't mind sharing host info. I won't re-hash the reasons, because they are all in that older thread. But I do agree with people not wanting to post names and contact info on a public forum.

    Bingo!

Too many people post here with $100 a day bankroll and expect free rooms, meals and show tickets. It amazes me when they are upset. Apparently those type folks do not understand basic business. (more money MUST come in than goes out).
