Full Resort fees CET in AC

There has always been a surcharge in AC for comped rooms. They use to call it 'taxes and other fees' which use to be $13 a night at CET, but now they added a resort fee for $20.00 while still keeping "other fees and taxes" more than doubling the price of a "comped" room.

Nothing I can do except vent about it here.

 

I hate to say this, but things will continue to go this way until the next economic downturn.

 

This is just keeping me out of Atlantic City more than was already the case. I live in DC and it's easier to just get my Tier Credits by taking a $7 train to Baltimore and hitting up Horseshoe than it is to go all the way to south Jersey. And now here's yet another reason, to go along with AC declining as a city, the diminished Boardwalk, the amount of time/gas/tolls...I may not go there more than once every five years or so, if that.

 

I've been bitching about this also,but from what I gather Diamond and 7 stars are exempt. I live close enough that we can go home in 45 min.,but honestly if you live elsewhere $27 isnt horrible for a room,but $13 was a lot easier to swallow. At least they could document the actual taxes which I had no problem with but $20 for wifi and a bunch of other stuff I dont need or use.
Had a comp room at GN last week,charge was $10.

 

As most of us know it's not the money, but the principle. We're coming there with money to gamble in return for a comped room. It's insulting the nickel and diming casinos are doing to us. And it's a lack of respect to the "supposed" most appreciated customers. The extra $14 is no more than an extra bet on the floor but I take it personally as less appreciated and less personal service, and personal service is a big reason for us to visit resort casinos.

 

They say its for added things like wifi but when you ask for the password, they give you shit about it. Agreed on the principle, as most of us will spend quite a bit in the casino and it's enraging believe me

 

Where can I get info on this $7 train to Bmore and how far is from the casino? Before we got our casino in MD I would do the $37.50 round trip to AC with greyhound with $25 rebate in slot play.

 

To follow this up from our experience this past sunday. Bally's AC has a pretty nice indoor pool with a half dozen or so private jacuzzis that are really nice and can be romantic. We use to pay $10 for access. Now we figured that the resort fee would naturally cover this and allow us access. But noooooooooooooo, the pool and jacuzzis are still an extra $10 charge. The pool is NOT covered under these new resort fees. So basically you get wifi and local calls and as a platinum we already get free parking. . Whoop-de-do.

 

I guess they figure low-rollers like us arent worth having ,even during the week in March. We would have booked the comp room and paid the $13 taxes for tonite ,but I'm not paying $27 for stuff I dont need. So we'll piss away our $200 at GN and possibly stay there tonite. or go home.

 

We too will be staying at GN for our April trip.

 

I live a few blocks from Union Station and I just take a MARC Train from there on either the Penn Line or the Camden Line. You can find stations along the way, fares, etc. at http://mta.maryland.gov/marc-train

Address of Horseshoe Baltimore is 1525 Russell St. It's around the corner from the Harbor and not far from the Ravens' stadium.

 

Just another reason for me not to go to AC as often. I'll only go on a Saturday if I get a comped room. I haven't won anything there in years. The last 3 Vegas trips I won 2 out 3 of them. I'm thinking of quitting AC altogether. I just hope they don't try to hit me with the resort fee for my April trip to Vegas. I have 5 nights comped at Paris. I made the reservation before the policy change for platinum players. I would assume they would grandfather my reservation, but with CET you never know. As others have said its not the money it's the principle. I hate being nickel & dimed.

WOW TALK ABOUT SOME NERVE AND THE KISS OF DEATH FOR THEM IN AC THEY ARE CHARGING 20 bucks in Resort Fees even on Comp Rooms.

 

They do this In vegas and at most properties now. It's waived if you're diamond or 7 stars.

 

Yes i founf that when in vegas but just booked AC here and was shocked with them hurting so much . I am a platinum member and that means nothing they are treated like people with no card and even did away with lines @ checkin for us.

 

Give me a holler if you're ever hitting the Horseshoe bdautch, I live in Arlington and drive up there every couple weeks and while I haven't really won thus far lol, I definitely love that place.

 

No problem man I'm on Capitol Hill and I'll probably hit that spot in May one weekend, maybe just for a night since it's so close.

 

More reasons to just go to the Borgata if you go to AC. There they only charge the $5 for the city tax on comp rooms.
