Rate the Diamond Lounges - ! OK, so one of the things that I like to do is take advantage of everything that my gaming entitles me to. I am hoping to make CET Diamond before my next LV trip on 4/5/15. One of my "objectives" will be to go to each of the CET Diamond lounges and compare them. Does anyone have any reviews to start this off? Non-LV CET Lounges are OK too. I will be reviewing Reno and Lake Tahoe as well. Question: Do they actively track Diamond lounge entry? Will it be an issue if they "see" me going to every Diamond lounge on the strip? Question: Do they have a Diamond lounge at the Cromwell?
All lounges seem to have the same chips/dip/desserts out during all open hours, and 2 hot appetizers from 4:00-6:00 or 4:30-6:30 depending on the lounge. Harrah's has a decent little salad bar type spread during all open hours. Flamingo seems to have fruit salad out all open hours. I think Cesar's has a salad bar spread also, but I'm not positive. All lounges open 4-9 Sun-Th, 12-9 Fri/Sat Cromwell doesn't have a lounge, Flamingo is super close. Cesar's, Harrahs, Paris have small bars in addition to tables. Paris/PH are tables only. PH has 2 couches in front of a huge TV. Great spot for monday night football. Harrahs seems to always be at around 55 degrees. Cesars seems to frequently have huge waits to get in, despite being the largest lounge. Presumably because of a higher percentage of their guests being diamond compared to other properties. My personal ranking goes 1.PH 2.Cesars 3.Paris 4.Harrah's 5.Flamingo
Caesars is the nicest in terms of setup and furnishings with Paris a close second. But, I consider the food better at Paris than Caesars and last trip I went to the one at Harrahs and thought at least on that night they had better food options than either Paris or Caesars. In my opinon those 3 are better than PH or Flamingo - although I agree that PH with the huge TV is good if you want to sit and enjoy a game (assuming it is the game that is on that TV). I think those are the only ones on the strip - assume Rio has one also but have not been to that one. They typically scan your Diamond card when you enter so I assume the system knows you have been there - but I would not think you would have any probably going from lounge to louge if you want to check them out.
Diamond Lounges in AC have a full buffet. Caesars AC also has a separate 7 Stars Lounge. If you have 25k tier credits last year or this year(to date), you can enter the Diamond Lounge for free. If you are a low Diamond (<25k), the cost is 1000 reward credits ($10). The Diamond Lounge in Caesars Windsor allows a Diamond player only 1 entry/day (plus a guest).
Ditto what Newmans said re: AC, where I'll be tomorrow! I would rank the LV Diamond Lounges as follows: 1. Caesars -- Love the vibe. It feels the most high end and has the most energy but it is often the most crowded. Something about having a drink at the CP DL that makes me really feel like I am in Vegas. 2. Flamingo -- Yes, it's my second choice, in part because, though it is a small, I believe it is the least pretentious of the LV Diamond lounges. I also like the central location of Flamingo and will often grab a drink or two in the lounge before hitting one of any number of shows at Flamingo. The Flamingo is also DBueler's "home" casino so we like meeting there. 3. Paris -- Vibe is decent as is hot food, when they have it between 4 and 6. 4. Harrah's -- Always seems to have a greater variety of food, enough to make it a mini meal, more than other DLs. The bartenders there seem cool too. DL is kind of dark but fine. 5. Rio -- It's more out of the way, of course, but I believe it has a decent view and it's neat taking the elevator up. 6. PH -- I don't dislike the lounge but it is my least favorite. It appears to be the biggest lounge ,however, and if you like to watch sports, there is a HUGE screen in a second room with comfy seating in front of it. The Harrah's DL in AC has the best food of the three AC DLs. It is actually BETTER than some LV buffets. The Bally's DL has the best views of any DL. It's a massive DL with floor to ceiling windows running the length of the lounge. All of the window seating looks out at the ocean. The Caesars DL is my favorite in term of the combination of vibe, food, maintenance, service and view. I also typically stay at Caesars when I am in AC.
Correct. If you are a Diamond player and go for lunch, you can't leave and go back for dinner. Caesars Windsor has a buffet, but not as large as AC. They also have a seperate menu for 7 stars and they also have unlimited entries. It's the same sort of thing as AC. If you are a low Diamond, you have to pay 1000 reward credits for each entry.
Can't believe the low ranking Harrahs LV Diamond lounge is getting. It is by far the best one in terms of booze, food, and cool bartenders. Paris used to be higher on my list the but the service and drink quality has fallen off. Caesars is nice, and they used to server allot more top shelf booze, but they pulled back some during my last trip, not to mention the food offering is sad. Harrahs AC has a great diamond lounge, but if you have not hit 24K in tier credits they were charging $10 for guests, seven stars were not impacted. Harrahs New Orleans also has a pretty nice lounge
I was in Vegas in January. My Diamond friend was allowed to bring in 1 guest at no charge to the PH Diamond Lounge. As a 7 Stars, I was able to bring 3 guests at no charge. Last year in the Diamond Lounge in Caesars AC, I saw low level Diamonds and their guests each being charged $10.
Funkhouser, I agree re: Harrah's booze and food and I don't disagree re: Caesars food being not as good. I like Harrah's LV as well. I just like it a tad less than Caesars. If it was a food-only ranking, I would rank Harrah's higher than Caesars. Agree with you on that one. Sometimes though I just go to a DL to take a break from gaming or catch my breath after walking the strip, etc. and just want to chill in a comfy spot with a drink. On that score Caesars is #1 for me.
You have lots of good info on the diamond lounges in Vegas. I actually like the one at Planet Hollywood because it is large but not crowded and you get faster service. The food selection is small though. In Reno - the diamond lounge is TINY and hardly any food. Just a few chips, dip, and fruit. Probably the smallest DL that I have ever been in and the smallest amount of food offerings. In Lake Tahoe, Harrah's has from 4-6 pm usually soup and an okay salad setup, chips, dips, and veggies and fruit. Nice Diamond lounge. The sister property Harvey's has a beautiful diamond lounge (called Lakeview lounge) with a gorgeous view of Lake Tahoe. It is on the 12th floor and you are escorted up on a glass elevator. However, it is now only open and Friday and Saturday with very limited food. They used to have sandwiches etc but now just chips and dip. The diamond lounge in New Orleans (called Palm) is small but really nice. You order off of a menu. I think Diamond members are limited to two items each guest. Have also been to the diamond lounges in Council Bluffs, both Harrah's and Horseshoe . Also in Shreveport Bossier City- Horseshoe and in North Kansas City. You have to pay for drinks in Kansas City. It has been several years since I went to the Diamond Lounge at Horseshoe Tunica.
I have only been to PH and Ceasars DL. We had great drink service at PH so we kept going back. Drinks just kept showing up without even asking. When we told our server we getting ready to leave, she came back with "to go" drinks for us. Ceasars was definitely more crowded, but didn't take long to get in. Much better and bigger food options at Ceasars.
The Diamond lounge in New Orleans has the best food hands down!! Small room, but comfortable and the staff is always pleasant and eager to please.
The one at Harrah's Reno; like Harrah's Reno itself, is a joke. It's barely ever open, and it's the size of a broom closet. The one at Harrah's LT is a little better...with the one at Harvey's LT coming up first (it's on the 12th floor overlooking the lake) EDIT: I forgot, the DL at Harrah's Rincon is pretty nice..it's HUGE, has a nice little garden, and served some decent Chicken Satay..
There are two 7 Stars lounges in Atlantic City at Harrahs and Caesars. Both of them give you a menu and you can order an unlimited amount of items. Also both of them offer bar seating, but neither one of those rooms have any windows at all. The Diamond Lounges is AC have very good buffets especially Harrahs. There is a bar at Ballys DL that is probably 75-100 feet long and it overlooks the Boardwalk and the ocean. Caesars DL is very big and very crowded. Also has very nice views. Vegas DLs - As far as I can remember none of them have windows looking outside except for maybe Rio. PH has a nice big screen TV and Caesars has lots of smaller TVs.
In Vegas I have hit Paris, Flamingo & Rio. I like Rio with the windows and for some reason I found Flamingo very relaxing. Absolutely nothing wrong with Paris but I found it a bit dark. In Council Bluffs the one at Harrahs is very small but still had a nice food set-up for supper. The night I was there small salad selection also with hamburgers so you could dress the burger up with lettuce, tomato etc. Soup and numerous kinds of bars.
I usually just go to have a break from the casino and don't eat much. My opinions. Caesars is the most attractive, has the nicest couches and is the busiest. They had a reputation for having the best food. The way folks head to the buffet, this might be true. Last time there was even a wait in the Seven Star line. PHo is my least favourite, not that there's anything wrong with it. It's just kind of chopped up into separate rooms. If at the Rio, I'd stop for a drink. It's quite peaceful looking over the pool. Harrah's has the friendliest bartenders, if you can get a seat there. If you're female, use their single restroom. It's the same decor as when the place was built. Let's call it unique. They check you in and check your ID at each DL. They don't care how many times you go to. All these DLs serve decent drinks. Some may have more choices than others. If you're heading to Laughlin in warm weather, they have a patio overlooking the river. That's very nice. Drinks are mediocre, at best. Food is blah.
