    Hi All,

3 of us staying Fri-Mon at Mandalay Bay with 2 nights comped and 3rd night $69. Requested Queen room with high up Strip view. Curious as to what reasonable expectation should be for Platinum upgrade at check-in, knowing that most suites only have Kings. Would love X2 suite... $20 spiff enough or would they offer discounted rate. Do they ever upgrade to Queen suite in Delano?

Oh, and stay is not March Madness weekend.

    Thanks!

I know that MGM Grand didn't have any upgrades on a Queen room except to the Staywell level. I know that (at least at MGM) there are no 1 BR suites that have 2 beds.

the Gold/Plat upgrade is a higher floor or better view.

you don't get a real upgrade like to a suite.

Shifter is correct, as usual. You only get a marginal upgrade -- to a better view in the same type of room. Although I have heard tales of the occasional upgrade to a suite from Platinum. That said, I've been Platinum for three years and haven't even gotten a view upgrade ever.

I'm Platinum and have never gotten anything more than a strip view upgrade. As far as getting an X2 suite from Mandalay Bay, expect to be quoted about $500 a night upgrade fee. The Delano upgrade is possible if you ask nicely or maybe for a $20 fee.
