Were there any free buffets you refused?

Getting a free comp is something many players dream of
getting. For many low level players a free buffet may be the best
they can get. I was offered free buffets at the Imperial Palace. Looking
at the choices and quality I turned it down.

There used to be a classy joint on the Strip called Holiday Inn Boardwalk.
It was famous for a 24 hr. buffet at a crazy low price. It was infamous for being
barely edible. Steve Wynn bought it. I believe he tore it down to build some
    dump called, Bellagio.

There are some that I wouldn't pay to eat at, but that's not the question.

I'm a cheap ba**ard, so I haven't turned down any free buffets, but I usually have a few to choose from.

On my way out of town I usually eat at the breakfast buffet at Silver Sevens.

I've considered doing that in New Orleans. It's such an incredible food town, and the buffet at Harrah's is so utterly bland/mediocre, that I thought about nixing it. In the end, I decided that breakfast couldn't be too bad and I settled for that. But I wouldn't take a free buffet there over eating lunch or especially dinner elsewhere in NOLA.

You're thinking of the Dunes that was imploded to build the Bellagio. The Boardwalk casino became City Center.

No....Bellagio is on former Dunes site. The old Boardwalk came down for City Center.

Yes, a couple of times when the line was obnoxiously long.

Oh yeah. I forgot about that. I had two free buffets at Red Rock but the line was so long I said told my cousin that we could do better elsewhere and went downtown.

When I was in college the boardwalk buffet was visited every time we made it to vegas. One time at like 3:30 am my friend was passed out in the booth and we were asked to leave. We then stumbled downstairs and played $1 blackjack. Best part of the buffet was the ticket you got for a steak. You only got one steak. Always thought that was funny.

I don't remember the steak ticket. I do remember a lobster ticket at one casino in St. Louis, however, so I don't doubt it. The only time I remember the Boardwalk buffet was one night before midnight. There was a group of us, all of whom had consumed several adult beverages, and the only kind of restaurant all would agree to was a buffet and the Boardwalk was the only one open. I know I was laughed at on Usenet (anyone else remember that one?) when I said I actually enjoyed it. :)

Ate at the Boardwalk buffet w/steak about 2 am once, never did eat there again. I used to get 6 free IP buffets per day so I ate there many times w/out any issues.

Last trip I cashed in a myvegas reward for a mgm breakfast buffet but didn't bother to actually use it. I at least got my LP coins back for it. If I were offered the Monte Carlo buffet for free I'd pass on it.

Casino run earn a buffet promotions all the time. Just because I've earned them doesn't mean I'll use them. If I can transfer the buffet to a credit at another dining outlet I will but otherwise, that's okay. I usually don't want to eat at the buffet and if its a promo where everyone can get a buffet easily, I'm not going to stand in line to get one.

I was in vegas last week. I play craps but didn't have much luck the first 3 days but the last 2 days I got comp meals. unfortunately I was leaving that last night so I didn't want to lose a lot of time eating at the buffet so I just picked up something at the take out place (at the Cal) so I didn't use my comp offer. too bad, wish that I got it earlier.

A few years back, my dad got comp'd two buffets at GN after some decent play at craps...we went in (against my better judgement), dad had a few things to eat, NOTHING looked appetizing to me at all...I watched Dad eat...we walked out...unfortunately I goi the "hangries" and we got into a bit of a tiff about the whole thing, kind of embarressed about it in retrospect, but we made up pretty quick...and the rest of the trip we ate well!

I did receive a free IP buffet, and looked around and only ate a couple things from it before leaving and getting food elsewhere. There have been a few buffets where I looked around and passed on them. I received a free MGM buffet as well, and although I was able to cobble together a meal, I wouldn't return.

I typically eat one or two at most during a long trip. I really liked the new Caesars buffet, and the Bellagio is a good deal at 3:20 (lunch price, dinner offerings at 3:30). The Stations casinos serve a decent breakfast buffet, and the Wynn, Mirage and PHo buffets were also enjoyed over the years. I'm eating lighter, and prefer hit and run options, or a nice sit down meal over a buffet.

Heh heh, I still remember doing that at the paris village buffet, paying the lunch rate and just waiting for the dinner menu to come out. I haven't done that in years (probably at least 6 years) since I don't eat that much anymore so not worth paying for buffets.

I only prefer being paid in $100's, anything less than that, you keep the change...
