Just read on their website about this new tournament opening weekend. $565 entry, $5 million guaranteed prize pool with 2 starting flights each of the 2 days with re entry allowed into the other flights if the person wants when ko'd from that flight.. Should be interesting. http://www.wsop.com/2015/
Thanks for that info kps. I went to the seniors event last year and have been contemplating trying again this year. The "Little one for one drop" also looks like it would be a good way to help out and still enjoy a couple days (or hours, or minutes) of poker.
Yes, this is going to be huge. I've seen some folks on 2+2 estimate 10-15,000 entrants. I'm in w/a couple of my buddies. Locked in a room early before rates get crazy around opening week of WSOP. Should be fun!!!
If you plan on playing this you better pre register, otherwise all I have to say is good luck. You could get in line at 10a.m. to register and still be waiting at midnight.
Will try and register in February... Will book my rooms now. The start dates (2) are on 29 and 30 May... Anyone know how many days it is?
The first 2 starting day's count as one day. It will either end late night the 3rd day or the final table will start around 1 or 2p.m. the 4th day. With that many entries you can't really say for sure.
Will be playing a few WSOP events this summer, but I may try to stay far, far, far, far, far away from this one
I'm in lingo about the colossus, although it does offer a good structure and a $5k starting stack. I will probably play the megastack again which is the weekend of June 12-13.
I'm travelling over in June to play in a WSOP event for the first ever time. Based on the early announcement of events and timings, I decided to wait for the Monster Stack starting June 12th rather than get there for the Colossus right at the start. That way, I can also play the Seniors event that starts on the 19th and which, sadly, I qualify for.
Thanks for that Geoff. I like a friendly table. I figured the Monster and the Seniors would both give me plenty of playing time for the money. The Monster obviously because of the stack and the structure. The Seniors just because I'm expecting an overall more sedate playing style. Although I'm probably being age-ist there. Having said that, I just found out that Phil Hellmuth qualifies for the Seniors for the first time this year. It would be fun if the "brat" signed up.
There is a super seniors event this year as well. . Must be 65 + to enter. It will be $1,000 and the structure has a ten minute nap time each hour. This will be held at Sam's Townand starts on June 21st and they anticipate the final table on the 29th.Sadly I also am eligible for this one.
I don't qualify for the Super Seniors for a few years yet, and I'll need to manage my bank roll better if I want to be able to afford it by the time I do qualify!
Prior to entering and playing in the Tournament, each participant must execute a Player Release Form. The player release form will be signed when you appear in person at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino to complete the registration process. Failure to sign and complete the Player Release Form may, at the option of Caesars subject the player to immediate disqualification at any point in the Tournament. Do you have to Stand in line to execute a Player Release Form?
