    My Trip Report

    Better later I hope....

Arrived in Vegas Dec 30 evening after 6 hour flight. Out host at Mirage had offered us 5 nts, 300 FP and 200 F&B, with Limo.

Check in was smooth and we had a nice room on 21st floor facing Paris. After unpacking we headed to CPK, just as they were closing. Pizza and half chopped salad really hit the spot. Played slot and VP a bit then headed to room as body back on East Coast time.

    Dec 31 ...... Party Day

Tried to sleep late but didn't work, hubby did though. Got ready for day quietly and headed for coffee. Met the nicest, young lady in the elevator. Told her we were going to Statosphere party that night and she explained to nap a few hours before 6 so I might be able to be awake for fireworks. She was very together and pretty. So nice to see young people socializing and not looking at their phone.

Got $100 cup of coffee and headed back to get hubby moving. Spent day playing here and there, loosing all the while. There is a group of Blazzing 7's that the Jackpot was about 16k. Hubby threw a few bills in there too. As a treat, I went to spa to have hair and makeup done. Pricey but worth it. Better on me than a machine.

Since the strip was closing, we went at 6 to the. Stratosphere for The Party on 107. Place was very quiet. While hubby continued on his downward trend, I found a nickel Ultimate X V/P. This I can play for hours. Hubby comes over and sees I am playing nickels and explained that you can get anywhere on nickels. Really Mr. Glass almost empty. Got a Royal on 3X for 12,000 "nickels". $600.00. To be continued.

    On to party..

In a great mood till we hit the security maze getting to the tower. Almost an hour moving at a snails pace getting to elevator. Luckily, we have been before so we were early and got a couch right at the beginning of the strip. Also had a little table next to us for our drinks. They had many bars set up and food stations. But the food selection was a bit cheep buffet style this year.

TheDJ was very good in our area and we had some Playmates or something in a VIP section near us. Then hubby had a full glass. The table was for dancers, not drinks. He had quite a show all night. Now we were both happy.

At about 11:45 people start filling in to our area, best view. So now were all packed inn trying to catch the fireworks. Well funny thing, Vegas was extremely cold that night, and we were very high. People have body heat. Glass that is warm in the inside and cold onn the outside fogs up. So the more the windows fogged the closer people leaned in. At one point people were climbing over the rail and wiping the windows with coats and jackets. But this only helped for a few seconds. Sooo all we saw were flashes of lights and no fireworks at all. It was a total blurr. Crazy..

Got out of there to head back, since the strip was closed they made up walk just about road behind Mirage to nthe door. I ended up barefoot on the pavement as in the crush to the windows someone used my platforms with my. Foot. Still in it to get a better view.

    New Years Day..

Another terribly expensive cup of coffee. Got st start getting room service. Spent day doing sports bets and poker while hubby started holding his own. Went over to. Harrahs and it was a bit crowded. Nothing to speak of and nothing at Casino Royal. Ended up at Heritage Steak for Lunch. Good small menu.

Hubby went for nap and I played poker. Up 65, so all good. We had reservations at Stack at 7:30 hubby said he would meet me there. Well at 7:30 my phone rings and he says he isn't really hungry, could we cancell. I was happy with that but ticked I had left table on a good run. Went to hostes and cancelled, they were very nice but that place was dead. I thought it was closed.

I was walking by the Blazzing 7's when someone got up. I sat quick as it was about 18 k now and people swarming. I put in $100 to save machine for hubby on his way down. Well I can't resist so I am playing and losing while calling and texting him. Lose that hundy so I put in another, and see thru the machines that he is getting up from the other side. I was so mad. He comes over and I tell him I was saving machine for him and lost. I asked if he wanted machine and he said no. Then said yes now I do, I looked back at machine and I hit 3 Blazzing 7 for $1,054.00. He got Nada! Played a bunch of machines till after midnight then off to bed.

Afraid if I stop now I will never finish it.

    Jan 2

Had hubby go get coffee! Blew a bunch after Jackpot last night, so back in red again. I swear I put money in almost every machine at Mirage. Dead! The had a progressive VP with terrible pay able buy progressive at $1,400. Played that till my fingers hurt.

Dinner was at Giada, played a few minutes at Cromwell. I really liked there. Dinner was awesome again. I want to thank Evoni, her recommendations were right on. We have been there once before but tried other things. I had the Barbarella drink, OMG it was delish! Had 2, hubby had a martini with blue cheese olives. Said they were the best ever. After dinner we were just relaxing waiting for the bill when hubby asked me a question. Lol he asked if I was sleeping, oops I was. I don't remember being that content in a long time.

Played Let it Ride after and hit a flush. Nice. Back to Mirage.
Blazzing 7 still not hit and the people were animals. Played around and some decent luck on VP. Hubby was hitting some too. Went to bed. Not broke.

    Last day.

Hubby still had $300 ticket from converted free play we put away to play that night. First thing we saw was empty seats at the Blazzing 7 corral. it had been it. they said just after midnight, well. I had gone to bed at 12:10 after playing there. bummed. We only played a bit realizing no one hits at Mirage during day.

We went to Wynn, and couldn't get anything going there either. A waitress suggested Tableu for lunch, was wonderful. They won me over with a little chair for my purse. omg, so cool. We watched people go out. To te pool which was open although it was like 40 out. I had crab eggs Benedict. Sooo good. Walked back to Mirage slowly. Saw the nice girl from the elevator. And showed hubby. Felt bad as she was trying to show her guy how to use ATM. Guess they were running out of money. Hubby said she was fine and not to worry.

We played a few hours and I played some sports bets and won, finally. Hubby napped and I played poker, going to miss that poker room. We had dinner at Heritage. It was decent but small selection. Nothing special.

Last night to gamble! We played all over, hit and miss. Finally find hubby, he tells me to decide which $5 machine I want to play our ticket. As he tells me this, the Blazzing 7's on his machine line up for $1,500. Yea! Big comeback.

So I find the machine and he comes over laughing. He tell me he just saw my new friend being escorted out by 2 non uniformed men while she was yelling to them they werent allowed to touch her. Poor kid.

So we play the ticket at hit for. $800. I cash out and hubby gives me $400 and says he will be around.

A few minutes later I am playing the $5.00 Top Dollar when he grabs my shoulder and says come quick. I just look at him cause he startled me. He say just leave it and come. No way, I cashed out and looked for him and saw he hit a Quick hits $5 machine for $1,044. Very nice, but the I saw all these Mirage people standing there and hubby hada odd look. I looked again, the Quick hits were all in a row. $ 50 grand. I screamed. Yep I am one of those people, I found out. They asked how. He wanted it. Lol. He said a check, they asked a few times if we wanted part cash. Um no, we're leaving early in the morning. The sad part I couldn't call anyone as it was 3 am at home. We waited till morning to tell the family. Lol. Great night.

    Host was great.

Bought a watch and a few trinkets on our way out with some winnings.

Didn't play at airport, no motive. ( but its back now)

Quite a few people to tip when you hit big J.P.

Paid with no taxes taken out. (Taxes now put. Away)

Thought they might offer us another night, nope.

Thought offers would come in better and more often, nope.

Did make Platinum, so Mlife is 3free nights.

But host had given us decent 3 nts, free play and F&B, for our next trip.

Yep, you can Winn on a machine. Just right one at right time. BTW, was 3rd push.

Great report and congrats on the hit! I'm curious about The STRAT party - was it invite only, or just show up and pay to get in? If so, how much? I am a low roller and have never done NYE in Vegas so I have no clue as to how it works. I can see the Strat being my kind of place on NYE, low key, like me. Really wanna check out the 107 bar sometime!

No, they sell tickets ahead. It's like $200 each. It's a great price, open bar, food and music and then they have an after party with the same on. Another floor too.
