do you prefer to let your place bets ride, or turn it off after a few hits have been made?

Never turn off a place bet.
You may as well leave the table if you're gonna do that.

I press on the second hit and never stop till the roll is over.

My wife went from $12 to $1500 on the 6 once. We were two rolls away from table max of $3000.

Unless the shooter tosses the dice off the table and its a no roll. I take my bets off for one roll. Has saved me $$$ in the long run. Funny how many times the seven comes out next or is it just my imagination?

Lots of "experts" recommend taking them down after a few hits. I don't listen to them. I go large or go home.

I tend to press one unit every so often.
It seems when ever I parlay the bet sure enough a 7 hits before that number again.

It's fun to think about but they're inanimate objects and losses tend to hurt more than wins of the same magnitude.

Nice, that is pretty gangsta pressing up to 125x your bet. Its a fun story to tell whether you win or lose.

Start off with pass line & come bets (both with odds). Play a simple 3 point molly. If a long hand shows, you can convert your come bets to place bets when they hit so you stay on the layout. If a certain number is hot, of course press responsibly. If not, press by spreading across first.

When you get to two units on the place bet numbers, switch to come bets. Three units on a come bet (come + double odds) pays more than three units on a place bet. Press at least one unit on every win. Press odds as high as you can get them, then press the come bet.
