I'd be down for this. I've never been to a Top Golf but even at marked up Vegas prices it would almost certainly be cheaper to hang out here for an hour or two than it would be to gamble.

    Cool!

Got a few texts last week from a noted VMB member when he was checking out the facility in Scottsdale.

This is a great pairing. The TopGolf here in Austin is hugely successful. They say that they get more non-golfers coming to it than golfers. It will do great in Vegas and especially at that location. I wonder if it will be open 24 hours!

Sounds like I might eventually be able to use my MLife points to get comped golf here at the Austin location. That's cool.

Wow, I can't believe they didn't do this sooner. As Big Tip mentioned, the one here in Austin is always packed. They will make a KILLING in Vegas I suspect.

It takes a ton of real estate to put one of these things up. The one in the DC area was one of the first and I've been going there for a long time. I'm originally from Dallas and have been to one of the two they have as well. Always have fun going there and really enjoy it.

I doubt I'll go to the one in Vegas because I do things in Vegas I can't do at home and I've been there many times so there's no novelty for me.

It's all in the package ... and location. Vegas has and has had elements here and there: The pitch-and-dust/range on LVB now TM-branded, the defunct driving range and golf "experience" on Trop not far from MGM, some of the stuff at Angel Park.

Sounds like it will occupy the land where Debbie Reynolds Casino was imploded ?

So, this is an entertainment facility......with a pool + cabanas ?
    *
How much does a round of 18 holes cost....on the similator ?
    *
I would think it could be open 24 hrs........if they want "locals" who work odd shifts.

This is a good addition. I have one right next door to me here in Austin and it is packed.

The one here is constantly slammed. They're building a 2nd one here too which I think is open.

If they make it conveniently accessible from strip and throw in some hot-ties, this could be a major bachelor party weekend stop.

I can already see the tag line. Come to TopGolf for your last vegas as a free man, and the lovely ladies at Top Golf will wash your balls for you.

Do you think you will be able to charge the bill to an MLife room during a stay in Vegas, just like any MGM restaurant?

I think Vegas is a natural location for this. The party atmosphere for this scene, is already here!

I did the Top Golf in Scottsdale 6 months back. The immediate 2 thoughts in my head were 1) "I wish I did this for my bachelor party!" 2) "Why don't they have one of these in Vegas?"

The over the top setup they seem to be planning for the Vegas location will probably do very well. Between bachelor parties and vendors bringing groups during conventions I bet this thing is packed more often than not.

You pay a hourly (or 15-minute) type rate for the range booth you are in. So you can stay as long as you want. You don't even have to be playing as you have the space reserved, you can eat, drink and hang out. But you also have to pay for each "game" individually. So it is a mixture of how long you occupy the booth and how many balls you hit.

There is a TOP Golf in Allen Texas close to my house and it is a lot of fun. Its like playing Darts with Golf balls. with plenty of Beer and food. I think it will be a good addition. When it first open there was wait times of 1 to 3 hours for a bay.

I don't think i will play it when I'm in Vegas as the one here is really close to me and I'd rater hit the tables in Vegas

I lived in Dallas for a few years after college and frequented both locations there. The place is so much fun, and the one in Vegas looks to be their best one yet.

One was recently opened a few miles from me here in San Antonio. I haven't been yet as the wait times on Friday and Saturday have been around 4-5 hours. It'll be a great addition to the strip.

I read that there will be a partnership with MLife (after this one opens) that can be used around the country. Should be interesting to see what kind of discounts we get.

    Topgolf MGM Grand

So I just saw that they were opening a Topgolf location at the MGM Grand. I'm looking forward to checking one of these out. Has anyone had an opportunity to go to a Topgolf location? If so, what was your opinion? I would think people playing at a Topgolf location in Vegas will add some gambling elements to the games. Below is the URL to the website.
