    My Trip Report

We fly out tomorrow morning from Austin bright and early! Staying 3 nights at PHo. I was actually able just now to call in and modify my reservation to take advantage of an offer for a whopping $50 in Free Play! Hey, I'll take it.

Only set plans are for Sunday. Dinner at House of Blues - back last May I bought a Restaurant. com gift certificate to use for my husband's Bday, with plans to go to Mix after. Our group of 8 had some folks on a tighter budget and with picky tastes so I chose it to accommodate them. Anyway, as some may remember from that trip report, husband WAY overdid it the night before his Bday and spent his entire Birthday in bed hungover, so plans got cancelled. I still have the GC so figured we'll use it Sunday for dinner before our one booked show which is Carrot Top. I've been on the fence for years about seeing him, but after reading so many reviews raving about it, I decided to go for it. Our seats are second row on the aisle.

Other than that, we've talked about going downtown Monday, maybe checking out the Mob Museum. We'll definitely be visiting all of our favorite VP bar bartenders - Rick, Donnie and the rest of the crew at Sully's, Leland, Art and..... Steve I think, at the Casino Bar at Bally's, Nicole, Jeff and Shea at Queue Bar at Cosmo, they guys at Gustav's and Bugsy's at Paris and Flamingo.

Hoping to use Tapatalk to post lots of pics and semi regular updates, starting at the airport tomorrow AM. :drunk:

Loved Carrot Top! That $50 free play might be a big winner!

Dropped the dog at the kennel. She is much less enthused about this trip than we are!

A very old $1 coin from The Boardwalk as a good luck charm. If I have a bad first day I'm chucking it.

As for gambling, we play about 50% VP, usually bartops, knowing we are trading paytable for the service we love at the bar, and then about 30% tables (3CP, BJ, a little roulette) and 20% slots. My goal for this trip is to not play tables drunk. At Harrahs New Orleans in Dec I was up about $200 and gave it all back cuz I was toasted.

We've been to Vegas 20+ times, so no longer feel the need to visit every property. We will mostly hang at the places we like, and plan to throw some $$ at Cosmo in hopes of improving our offers, since we love it there.

If you've never tried the breakfast special at Cheeseburger Las Vegas in the Miracle Mile shops, it's well worth it. $5.99 for 2 eggs, meat, hash browns toast and coffee. Plus $3.99 Bloodys or Mimosas.

Sitting at Queue Bar at Cosmo and got my first 4OAK. It's not a premium but I'll take it. We haven't even checked into our room yet and I think my husband may be on tilt.

Enjoying your trip report very much!! Thanks for the info on breakfast at Cheeseburger. Did it used to be another place - I don't remember seeing it last summer? Good prices too!

We are flying southwest from Love Field in April. Does Austin have a nonstop to Vegas or does it have a stop somewhere?

Congrats on the 4 OAK! I will keep following!
